  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've read a couple of other posts from owners who have a similar problem: the driver's seat cushion/bottom is not only hard, but the bigger issue is the bolsters -and piping -on the side of the seat cushion (not the bolsters on the seat back) turn inward in a way to press against my upper hamstring area that makes driving the car pretty uncomfortable after just about 15 minutes.

I'm not overly large - 6'2 with a 36" waist.

My car is a '16 with Ultimate package.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any tips on how to resolve? It's making me so I don't want to drive the car, which otherwise is great.

I'm 6'4", much heavier than you, and I can tell you this, since I have an Ult too, play with the tools you have. Did you know that round "4-way" control also rotates? Thats yer wings. The up and down on that same control offer tremendous versatility. I might posit, play with the toys some more. The one thing I might agree about is I find the seat bottoms to be a bit hard, but I'm coming from a Volvo.... If you've had one, well, you know.

Frame of reference definitely informs perception - coming from a Sonata, the seat bottoms of the Genesis feel very plush to me.:) Volvo seats are amazing. I don't know why every other manufacturer doesn't simply clone them.

I'm 6' 1" 225 and my Ultimate seats in my 5.0 are awesome. Best car seats I have ever sat in.

While the rest of the seat in my Ultimate was very comfortable - that same exact part did bug me for a few hundred miles. However - being a motorcyclist for more than 20 years - I have also had my head squeezed by a fair number of new helmet until they were broken in. I gave it a few weeks, applied leather conditioner and worked the portion of the seat that was bugging me to make it more malleable and now I can do a 500+ mile day without any issue.

Also - that rotating part of the bolster adjustment does not move the seat bottom - but instead the seat back. The OP said it was pressing on his hammy - which is in his leg. Not the back :) I had the same issue. No problems now though.
