  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Fog Light Harness in the 3.8L?

Hi Guys! This is my first post, Just bought my new 2015 V6 RWD Genny 2 weeks ago. I just finished the fog light install without 'cutting into' existing wiring, thanks to all on this thread, it was an immense help.

Didn't remove front bumper, (but it would have been easier and neater finished wiring, if I had. Follow losboricua's detailed fog light install instructions: post#260). Ran wiring to engine compartment fuse box, and used an add-a-tap to power the mini LED controller only when the engine is on. Mini LED controller fits nicely inside the fuse box where it is protected.

Works great; I can turn them on and off from inside the cabin without adding switches or relays or running wires thru the firewall. Also, can dim fog lights to match parking lights or headlights, (although sometimes I'm getting fluctuating brightness when dimmed. A capacitor may help, any advice on this would be appreciated).

Fog lights off eBay, (includes the connector plugs). http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Genuine...ash=item3ceddd22fa:g:ZLwAAOSwFe5X04tO&vxp=mtr

'Add-a-Circuit ATR MICRO2 fuse tap with 5amp micro2 fuse, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OZGA8O8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wireless Mini LED Dimmer, https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...onnector-wireless-rf-remote-5-amps/3051/6261/. There are several available at this site, make sure it will handle more than 3.6 amps (each fog light is 22w=1.8 amps). This one is rated for 5 amps.

Hey @NEODon, did you say you were able to install the fog lights without removing the bumper? Also, you can try wiring in a resistor between the dimmer/remote module and foglights, that way when dimmed they aren't flickering. I plan on doing all of this when I get my car back from the shop.

Yes, I didn't remove the bumper. There is one nut on the passenger side that is very difficult to get back on. I ended up sticking it onto my fingertip with carpet tape, to get it started. Other than that, it was a straight forward job. Thanks for the resistor tip.

Thanks! I'll post back if I ever accomplish this.

I have 2015 3.8 AWD Ultimate

I've read all the threads on this "adding fog light" topic.
I would like to take the "stand alone" installation approach.
1. Not adding the 5.0 stalk/factory wire harness
2. Use OEM fog lights with connectors (pigtailed)
3. Use a universal wire harness for a typical 2 lead installation (relay, fuse, switch, etc.)
4. ON/OFF Rocker switch mounted on the interior fuse panel door

My question is what is the rated wattage of the OEM fog lights?

oops... Just found Ejb's post #272... fog lights are 22watts each

For those of you who have done this install. Can you take a look at my yellow box areas on the pictures. This just arrived from South Korea & these areas got damaged when the lights bumped against each other in transit. Trying to decide if it’s worth sending them back or if I can live with it.

The main problem is the top box. I don’t know how crucial this little piece is during the install

Thanks for your help !

I ordered from the link you posted. And despite the advertisement saying it includes connectors it did not come with it. When I questioned them they said no that doesn’t come with it. Fun stuff!1

If it were me and I received them damaged, I would complain to the seller. When I ordered mine from RPMTrade, they did come with a pair of 2-wire connectors but I didn't use them because I got the full harness with the foglights in them. The damage that concerns me is the break around the seal. That could allow moisture inside the housing.
