So I went on a vacation and left the Genny parked for a week. Got her all washed up and pretty to take the woman on a date and went to start her up. I immediately noticed the steering seemed a bit tight, then realized the power steering fail light was lit up. Tried restarting the car a few times to no avail.
After having to take the wife's Santa Fe, which has never broken in 6 years, I started looking through the manual and my service manual and figured out they call it R-MDPS (rack-motor driven power steering). There are 2 fuses under the hood for this system. There is a 125A one for the motor (holy crap!) and a 10A one for the ECU. Neither one is blown.
Any ideas? And try driving this beast without the motor... I wonder if the dealership will tow it in, I am not sure I want to try driving this thing right now...
