You might trying turning down the heat for the backseat. I did and it seemed to to reduce the problem
Well, as it turns out I am just a moron. I took the car back because it was doing something that I THOUGHT was part of the problem. But as it turns out, it was just doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
When I woke up in the morning I remote started my car. I didn't get outside until after it had shut itself back off. But, the windshield was mostly defrosted so I decided to jump in and head out.
Since the defrost was complete, I turned the mix to floor and turned the blower to about half. Defrost seems so loud to me in the morning.
Genesis didn't like this idea. Genesis decided it wanted to go back to defrost and ramp up the blower to 100%.
I was a little perplexed by what just happened, so I turned the blower back down and then turned it to floor. It switched fine and I then tried to turn on recirculate. But that wouldn't work. So I turned the blower all the way back up.
Genesis didn't like this idea. Genesis decided it still wanted to be in defrost. So, it turned back to defrost and turned the blower all the way back down.
So, I turned it back to floor and then the blower went back to 100%!
I figured this must still be a problem with the air mix actuator so I just turned the whole thing off and called the dealership when I got to work.
Now the awesome team at Miller Hyundai think I am a complete jackass because as it turns out, that is exactly what it is supposed to do... They simply marked the repair form as "Operates as normal". I am actually surprised they didn't write: "Operates as normal JACKASS"
Anyway, on top of all that, I forgot my work parking pass in the loaner car so I had to go back
again in order to pick it up.
So, this thread can pretty much be closed. The ORIGINAL problem of the super heat was caused by the air mix actuator which they replaced the first time under warranty. The following problem was just me not realizing I have no control over what this car wants to do when my shoes are wet because it's a slushy day.
