  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

While taking off the bottom engine splash cover, I broke a few of those plastic push in rivets. I went to three different auto stores and can't find these. Can anybody please tell me where I can buy these at?

Thank You

Did you try a Hyundai dealer parts department?

some larger Lowe's stores have a section of automotive fasteners. Other than a dealer I have no other suggestion.

I have tried looking online and on Hyundai's parts website but no luck. I wish I could at least somehow get the part number and find it that way.

That's a good point. There's actually a Lowe's store about a mile from my house, I should try that.

Be careful, The Amazon link above is $8.99 for only ONE CLIP!!! No where in the Description does it say for More than one....Somebody is making BIG MONEY on that one!

The title of the object says 15. :spoton:

I usually buy a bag of 10 or 20 at NAPA Autoparts up here in the Great White North. They aren't expensive, just gotta find one that's the right size, doesn't even have to be identical realistically.

As mentioned go to e-bay and buy a bag of 50 and better yet 100. I did and got 10MM, 8MM, 7MM and 6MM so I'm covered on all my vehicles and there are different sizes in different locations. I now have a larger plastic compartmented storage box with all my "push pins" as a supply from now on.

IIRC 8MM is the most popular

Best deal is Ebay - see links above

And throw 'em away after one use

So, these clips must be removed to replace the engine filter?

On the G2 V8 - you have to remove a large front panel to access the oil filter. Remove five 10 mm cap screws & 11 plastic push pins -- They are not really clips - the pushpins are cheap little fasteners which should be discarded and replaced.

And, on the V8, that procedure is just for starters - a second centrally located panel has to be replaced to access the oil pan drain plug - the way to go on that one is to use the "Mercedes Method" I.E., suction the oil out with something like a Mity-Vac or the equivalent.

But -- If you are really a "No Genesis Yet" person -- then why Worry.

What about the engine air filters for the V8?
