  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK, newer member here :worthy: , bought my Gene in Nov 2016 (got a heluva deal), and absolutely LUV it ... part of the deal was that they install a remote starter, as i noticed that it didn't come with one unless part of the Hyundai App. It included 2 remote starter fobs (not part of factory fobs). Well, this past weekend, my wife used the car, and when she arrived at her destination, she made sure she locked the car, but may have inadvertantly come upon a sequence that started the car remotely with the factory fob (no, she didn't have the aftermarket fob with her). She showed me when she got home, and it did it every time with both of our remotes.

My question is - could this be a factory default that they didn't let out, or just part of the aftermarket installed starter ? I didn't see anything about it on/in the box that the kit came in ...

Thanks ... Matthew

Why not share the sequence so we can test it ourselves? If your wife truly discovered a back entry to remote start, you will become an instant superstar.

This may be attributable to the fact that you had them install a remote starter. Regardless of whether you are using the fobs they gave you or the standard fob both of them may be triggering the remote start that was installed, which would explain why it does not work for anyone else who has replied to this thread.

any idea on the type of remote starter? if that's all it takes to get the original fob to start the car then installing the same remote starter would be the next step.

2015 Genesis Sedan - Hyundai factory remote starter installed by dealer - comes with remote fobs however the OEM fob will also trigger the remote start - tap lock and within 3 seconds tap trunk or panic button.

How about for the 2019 g90?

What I really dislike about the Bluelink remote start app is,
1. Its very slow, and many times it tells me that the service is currently unavailable
2. If your car is not locked, then the remote start won't work. You have to send a lock notification, and then a start .
Every other remote car starter that ive owned (non-App), will, when you start it, automatically lock the car and start the engine.

It is completely useless, I got the trial and won't pay for that junk. Only part of the car I really don't like, everything else is great but I dunno what they are thinking not having it on the fob from the factory.

They were thinking they would offer a service people would like and pay money to have. Others are doing it too and expect more in the future. OnStar was the first. I'd not say completely uselsess, it does have some value. I use the "send to car" feature often. Widget rather than the app to start helps quite a lot.

What is the Widget? Send to car isnt working on my 2019 G90. When I attempt to use it I am sent to the Genesis app to log in with no option to send to car

Are you by any chance trying to send to the car from Google maps? That is not supported.

There are 5 widgets on the app. On your phone you hold a finger on the screen and it changes the screen. Tap Widgets, go to Genesis, tap the icon to open the selection. I only use the start.

For send to car, go to the app and open it. There is a search bar. Type in what you want. Once you find it, on the bottom right is the "send to car", just tap it. If you are signed up with the www.mygenesisusa.com web site you can do it from there too. You cannot do it from Google
