I was a proud and happy owner then, not so much now. With 5 years of ownership under my belt, I must say that I am disappointed with the car. The first thing to stop working was the backup camera/ serius radio. Then the sunroof wasn't fitted properly, and after repair was noisy when operating. Then the "captains console" on the driver door stopped working, meaning no electric window control, or locks. Then the headlights would turn off when the directionals cancelled after a turning movement. The next annoyance was the inability to pass the cars very first smog test...with 65000 miles on the clock, the OBD2 said it was "not ready for test".....REALLY??? Dealer said they would "try" to get it to pass for a $120.00 charge, maybe more depending....! I found a KIA "drive cycle" on this site that finally reset the computer to the "ready to test" mode, after 5 returns to the smog testing facility. Now, the final straw, the paint on most of the exterior plastic parts is coming off, big flakes on the side rub strips, and blisters on the front grill surround/bumper, rear bumper.....Oh, the paint warrantee is 3 years....Hyundai says, "SORRY!!!". Oh, and then there is the loud clanking from the engine when starting first thing in the morning....my neighbors just look at me, and shake their heads in sympathy. When I bought the car, I was looking at the Toyota Avalon also but chose the Genesis because it was so PRETTY!!! WHAT A MISTAKE.....A $38000.00 MISTAKE!!! Mind you, this is a California car, babied, hand washed, kept garaged, and cared for by a 72 year old man who takes care of his motorized vehicles... LISTEN UP HYUNDAI CORPORATE!!! THIS IS NOT A METHOD TO ENCOURAGE "BRAND LOYALTY"....
