Wow!

One reason I bought the Genesis is that it had two safety features I wanted:

1. Amber rear turn indicators (I don't think the red ones are as noticeable).

2. Turn indicators on the side view mirrors.

The last thing I would want is to darken any exterior lights on my car.

Color or brightness of turn signals does not matter in Florida. Nobody uses them. Not even the cops. There is nothing to be noticed.

That's becasue many people in FL are too old to see them, so why bother?

I had my tailights tinted (Black 3.8 w/ cashmere interior). The guy used a special tint thats a little thicker than what goes on your windows. It gives it a nice 'stealth' look, especially if you are all black.

I was once a LEO. It always surprised me how people went out of their way to attract attention to themselves -- illegal films and other modifications, crude bumper stickers (guess how the ones mentioning police ended? ), etc.

Personally, I think it looks nice on headturner's vehicle, though in bright conditions, that is a safety concern. All lights are DOT approved primarily for light output. Modifying that is illegal in most if not all jurisdictions. Not something that most officers actively enforce, but it's great cause for a stop and another line item on a citation for lippy, cocky kids.
