Been driving the Genesis now for about two months but prior to that had the following american cars the last few years in no paticular order:
2008 CTS
2007 Saturn Outlook
2008 Saturn Aura
2006 Lincoln Zephyr
So it takes a bit getting used to the features / functions of the Genesis although most of them are intuitive (the quick reference guide helps). But there are a few things that I miss that I thought I would share. I'm assuming other folks have some of the same observations.
- Dead pedal location
- GM cars would leave power on for 10 minutes if you didn't open the door. A nice feature. I travel around and when I am on bluetooth call in the Genesis and want to continue the call with the car turned off I can't...have to transfer to the headset and then transfer back after turning on the ACC power. Annoying.
- Speaking of power I miss having the power outlets juiced up all the time. When I have a device needing charging I would need to leave the key in the Genesis to do that if I am going inside somewhere. There should be a way to provide outlet power all the time.
- Ice cold A/C all the time. Where did they do the hot weather testing in this car? Alaska?
- A one push option on the key FOB to open the sunroof and windows on a hot day
- Remote start
- And one last thing...why does the ACC position turn on the radio but not bluetooth? It just seems anything you want to do after the car is off requires the "key" to be turned to the on position (second push) which turns everything on!
Thats about it.....don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my purchase and I'll learn to live with most of the items above I just have had them for so long I would have assumed a car like the Genesis would have some of what I consider to be basic items. Didn't even give it a second thought when I leased it. BTW my Genesis is a cab red premium plus.
