I am new to this forum. I have been following and reading a lot of different discussions about the 2018 G80 and G80 sport.
I currently own a 4 cylinder car and I had been looking for an affordable luxury car with a V6 engine. After doing some research, I initially settled on the Kia Cadenza given its price and standard features offered. However, I was not wowed by the car (I ended up not test driving it).
I did more research and stumbled upon the Genesis brand. The G80 sport's styling, its engine specs, interior finish, and those rims drew me to the Genesis brand. For curiosity sake, I reached out to a dealer who had one in stock. The G80 sport's MSRP was higher than its competitors such as the 2018 Acura TLX A-spec AWD, the 2017 Lexus GS 350 AWD F sport, and the 2017 E300 sport 4Matic.
Here is my question (please do not knock the newbie): Is the G80 sport overpriced?
You do get a good bang for your buck. A comparably priced competitor (apart from the Acura) would be priced at least $10k more.
I am looking for a healthy discussion. On a side note, what do you think of the upcoming G70? I came across some spy photos posted online. I cannot wait to see this car in person and test drive it.
*If the G70 sport gets the same 3.3L 365 hp twin turbo engine as the G80, it will be much quicker. We could be talking sub 5 sec to reach 60 mph.
