Hello,
I recently purchased a used 2016 Hyundai Genesis sedan 3.8 with 20K miles on it. I absolutely love the car, but recently the car started doing something alarming. Out of nowhere, when I kill the engine by pressing the start/stop button, instead of the radio and infotainment system staying on like normal (until I open the driver door), the car dies completely. When I try to press the power button again, the car doesn't start and there is literally no power in the car at all. Nothing works, quite literally. This happened yesterday, but it turned over like 5 minutes later. Now? I can't get it started for the life of me.
Also, this came up a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't notice the issue until I came back to my car. So I thought I just left the light on and my battery was dead. I called triple A, the battery was totally drained but I was able to get a jump. They said that based on how drained it was, that the problem was the alternator. I brought the car back to Hyundai because of warranty and they said it wasn't the alternator but the battery was bad. They replaced it.
So now I have a new battery and a functional alternator and this is happening. Anyone else experience this? Could it be faulty wiring? Fuses shorting out?
Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
