  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

5.0 Winter Tires

Depends on the wheel. I have 17" wheels with winters from my rspec that would fit fine on the Gen2 althought there is very little clearance up front.

So it looks like the Gen 2 5.0 has bigger brakes than the Rpsec at 14.2". Visually the calipers also look bigger to me, but that's hard to tell from pictures.

As part of purchasing the car, I negotiated four Blizzak tires included by the dealership. Nearly $1,700.00.

That's what they tell you since it makes the customer feel like he is getting a great deal however Tire Rack can get those to your door for much less. Try around $1200. ;) Regardless, nice deal.

The Dunlops that came on my 2011 4.6 were awful in the winter and I had to get snow tires. I bought a set of Blizzaks that were awesome and I just sold them for $400 since I can't use them on the 2015 5.0. I am hoping that the tires on this one are good enough to use in the winter and I am curious as to how much "snow" mode will help. Don't want to shell out $1200 again for the snow tires.

Re: '15 5.0 Winter Tires

Does anyone have a suggestion (optimal) for a wheel and snow-tire configuration for the 2015 Genesis 5.0? Looks like I need to go with 18' all around - if so is there a known cheap set of wheels that will work? Thanks.

Can anyone confirm if they successfully got 18" tires on their Gen 2 5.0? Just looked at the break configuration and it seems to be very little clearance as is.

I have a 2015 V8 Ultimate and have 18" wheels for my winter set. Can't recall the exact spec's but here's a link to the site.

Apparently the owner of "FAST WHEELS" has the same car too and uses these wheels. I went with the Nokia Hakkapellita R2 tire. Got them at Kal Tire here in Ottawa.

This car with the AWD and winter tires is pretty solid.

Hope this helps
