I was on SR130 yesterday (speed limit 80, but an otherwise interstate-like road) and I came up upon a passing-lane squatter whose speed was varying between 70-80 (dry conditions- at that particular time, anyway). This particular gray crossover driver happened to be next to a semi-truck which more-or-less matched his speed and was basically blocking the highway with about 15 cars stuck behind them (most in the passing lane, unfortunately). There's a stretch of the road where it opens up to 3 lanes and when that happened I immediately nailed it and sailed around the blockages. Once past the whole lot of them I properly moved to the non-passing lane and resumed my drive home with clear road ahead of me.
Man the V8 really wakes up in temps below 60 degrees. It's like it bares its teeth. Horrible for fuel mileage though (because of the temptation to plant the right foot).
(Okay, I know cool-weather helping performance is not limited to the V8 and is somewhat intrinsic to internal-combustion-engines, but I was just enjoying my car alright?!
