  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Re: I got a Genesis today!

SWEET!!! :) It looks really nice in dark colors...I can only imagine how good it would look w/ tint.

By the way, is that your house? Also very nice.

Re: I got a Genesis today!

Congrats. I can't even count how many owners of the Genesis in this site. Maybe ninth or tenth? :p Looks great. Can we see some interior shots, oh, and I agree, that's a beautiful house if it is your house. :)

Congrats and I wish you a long, happy miles with your new baby. :)

Re: I got a Genesis today!

Sahhhhweeeeeeet!:D That is one beautiful car! Not bad for a North Dakota boy:p

I would totally go with black if I didn't live in the snow and grime for 7 months of the year.

Congratulations!

Re: I got a Genesis today!

Re: I got a Genesis today!

Thanks guys . Just having a blast playing with the toys. More pics to follow, after we get organized. Currently evaluating doing a 35% tint, adding KDM wings to rear only and perhaps the wings wheel caps. I'll be sure to post issues/quirks as they pop up. And no, that's not my house, but it is where I live. It's the front driveway at our condo.

1st Issue: Black floor mats and the white Florida sand. Ugh :(

1st Quirk: Have a garage door opener with a rolling code. When I brought the car home, couldn't open the garage door. Was like the battery just died in the remote. Went down tonight to program the HomeLink and it took forever. Turns out when the car is running, it blocks my remote. Turned the car off, turned on accessory mode and had it all done in 3 minutes. Go figure!

Re: I got a Genesis today!

Almost forgot the add ons the finance guy tried to pedal at the last minute:

1. Extended Warranty 10yr/100K.................$1372.00
2. Road Hazard/Tire & Wheel Coverage.........$429.00
3. Door Ding Protection..............................$599.00
4. Environmental Protection Int/Ext..............$449.00
5. PursuiTrak [follow-on to LoJack]..............$894.00

YUK :(

Re: I got a Genesis today!

Congrats..... I can't wait to see the V8 w/ Tech... that's my choice right now. Just waiting, and waiting, and waiting :(

I hope you don't mind me moving these posts into your own topic!

Congratulations!! The Genesis looks great in black! Do post those interior pictures when you find the time. :)

SimonWPB,

Don't worry - I am not dissing ND. Just a little inside joke with Baywayric (I got an extra $500 coupon for him from the Discover Genesis tour in MN by mentioning that "my brother in ND could use one too").

Congrats on the beautiful car. Thanks for posting the pictures.

I'm confused...extra $'s for 10yr/100k? I thought that was standard. Or is that something they were offering above and beyond that?

Standard warranty is bumper to bumper 5 years 60.000 miles. 10 years, 100.000 miles is for engine warranty. Extended warranty price is highly negotiable as well.

I'll bet you played with the tech package for hours. How's the Bluetooth working?

4 hours last night, 4 more tonight, and on... I have a Motorola Razor, and actually paired it from on screen instructions without the manual. Took about a minute. Absolutely works perfectly. Sounds like you're on a land line at both ends of the conversation. Caller ID says "Incoming Call" on line one, and the 10 digit phone number in line two. Haven't tested it yet, but I think once the car's phone book is loaded, the system does a lookup and replaces "Incoming Call" with whatever name matches the incoming number in the phone book. Only downside have I found so far is you cannot access the cell phones contacts list. You have to load the car's phone book manually, although it is pretty quick once you get comfortable with the controller.

the black on your Genesis looks really deep and 'noir'. congrat!

I'd really like to get more feedback on your experience with the Tech Package BT system. I can't find any details on it, such as features and differences compared to the standard BT system. I know the tech package system is built into the Nav, and mutes the radio (correct) when a call comes in, per the Hyundai site, but there are no specs as to how to use it, or what additional features it has. If you can share more insights as you load contacts, and maybe even some pics of the screens, that would be AWESOME. I'm trying to decide between tech and non-tech, and BT is probably one of the bigger feature factors between those two versions for me.

Thanks, and sweet ride!

Yes, it does mute the radio, or whatever is playing. A lot of detail so probably better to send you the manual. The Driver Information System manual is 13+ MB and the section onthe phone is about 4.5MB. Your choice, PM me the email address you want it sent to.
