But only with the smaller 4-cyl? But there's always hope...
One of the possible reasons the manual only assigned to the smaller engine is fuel economy
But the EPA numbers I saw favored the automatic
Stick combined 22 with 18/28 city/highway
Auto combined 25 with 22/30 city/highway
The difference is that some drivers just like the fun of a stick. There is no practical advantage but repairs may be less down the road unless you burn up clutches a lot.
Being engaged in NC may be OK. Being engaged on a freeway with bumper to bumper traffic during rush hour in a major city is a gigantic pain in the a$$.I feel much more engaged in the process of driving with a manual transmission but my wife feels differently. If a car is going to be used by both of us, automatic is pretty much de regeur these days.
Up until the last 10 years or so, I think most manual transmissions were more fuel efficient than automatics. But that has changed. For one thing, you probably won't find a 8 speed manual on a car. What I meant, if you the manual stick used on the turbo V6 the fuel economy will be below at or below EPA's allowed mileage and therefore it was only used for the smaller engine.

You need the Bentley Bentayga SUV with 542 HP (0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds):If I were to get a G70, it would be as another fun car. And for me, fun driving involves three pedals. Utilitarian driving is done in our G80 (5.0 and still kinda fun) and our SUV (Jag F-Pace, as fun as an SUV can be).
But I hope to hold out for the coupe. Perhaps it will be offered with a stick. I sure miss my 6-speed Gen Coupe 3.8 Ultimate, and it will be replaced eventually with something.
