  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do you know when leasing deals are out?

It was supposed to be available at 1PM MST but looks like there may be some technical difficulties. They should be up shortly.

I did some math last week...and my guestimate was $55k USD. I based it on the G80 AWD Sport...compared CAD and USD, etc, etc.

I have a feeling you're just about spot on. If so, Genesis has a lot to prove being the new kid on the block. We will see.

I suspect the top of the line sport G70 fully loaded will be between 50-60K. The Stinger's +52K, the G80 3.3T gets close to 60K. I think @Toddasaurus is going to be sad when the pricing does come out. But...I am hopefull they keep it as low as possible or offset it with some insane leasing deals.

I think you're right about the price, I've been using the same logic. It's definitely within my price range, but considering I am intent on modifying for performance I'll be comparing it to other proven performance oriented cars (eg M2, RS3, RCF, etc). As of right now the one thing Genesis, for me, has going for it are the sleeper looks, the potential of the 3.3T engine (many performance shops are getting a lot of HP for relatively small upgrades), and that rear-biased AWD platform. I'm keen on doing something new and unexpected, hence my waiting around on Genesis instead of going forward on my previous plans. Time will tell. Again, it will all come down to the feel of all these cars once the G70 is released in the US and I can test drive it and compare it to the others. As of right now, I'm stuck with just using numbers and I've learned to always be suspicious with something relatively new.

I am in the same boat as you. But...I think the 2-series and the A3 series are smaller cars. So I am comparing to the Q50 RS and the S5 Sportback. Nothing else really appeals to me. So...take an S5 SB loaded up like the G70...you are talking close to $65k USD. Worth $10k more? Probably not.

Lease calculator is up now. Residuals for the 3.3T Sport on a 48 month 20,000 km/year lease look to be about 48%. The $1,000 deposit is taxable and while you get the deposit amount back as a credit you don't get the tax back.

Advanced = $42k
2.0T Sport = $45.5k
Elite = $47k
Prestige = $52k
3.3T Dynamic = $52k
3.3T Sport = $57.5k

$57.5k CAD converts to $44k for the 3.3TT Sport. I'm sure we'll have different trim level names in the US. The top trim is going to be wayyyyyyy more than $44k. That's insane how much cheaper the car is in Canada.

Edit: But if I think about it, the cost of a Giulia tops out at $55k US. The price may, indeed, be hovering around $50-$55k instead of $57-$58k. Pricing would be so much easier if the da*n Stinger wasn't out or if it wasn't priced where it is.

Payments are now up for Canada -- build away!

Hummmm I'm wondering how worth it it is to pick up the winter tyres and rims. Prices seem ok. The 39/48 month lease figures are better than I expected to be honest!!! Also, any opinions on the protection plans? I'm thinking with our nasty winters in Quebec at the very least the wear and year one is worth getting. Salt is hell on carpets!!!

Winter tires are a MUST HAVE if you have a Sport or Prestige. Michelin PS4s are NOT GOOD in the snow -- I verified this personally over the weekend! ;)

Considering you get a free replacement windshield with the Appearance Protection plan, I say it is 100% worth it.

Its close to 2 months before estimated delivery of the g70s and we still have no pricing !!! Lets go already i know its rumored to be high 50000 but it would be nice to get some structure for potential deals in place so i know what to compare to the competition . Is there any chance that the top trim g70 could cost mid 50000 ??

If this pricing holds for the US market, based on current exchange rates, I'm a very likely buyer at one of the top 2 models.

If they go over 50k USD, I'm very-likely not a buyer, and will go bmw/mercedes instead on a certified car a few years old.

CMON Hyundai, I WANT you to win me!

Not a fan of the Hyundai Genesis? You can pick up a 2015-16 CPO for under $30k. Bargain I tell ya

I'm a huge fan. In fact I LOVE it. But my love is not unconditional.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I'm only interested in the 3.3, but only if the pricing is right. If it ends up being more, I will most likely go with a new Audi RS3.

I agree, it definitely is a bargain. I know this wasn't directed at me, but I feel it must be said that some of us want to avoid the Genesis, as the RWD Coupe has become an ugly symbol of boy racer-ism. I think it's safe to say that the majority of us want something more refined, luxurious, and grown-up - all without the screaming image of an inferiority complex. (No offence to anyone here who owns one!!)

my moneys on a 49k msrp on the 3.3

I'm thinking you're just about dead on with that. Just talking about the top two 3.3t rims, we know that they will be more than the equivalent Stinger trims; but my bet is that Genesis will want to undercut Kia, within reason, in order to attract more buyers. That said, here is my hypothesis...

The Kia Stinger's top 2 USDM trims are:

GT1 - $43,250 ($45,450 for AWD)
GT2 - $49,200 ($51,400 for AWD)

Kia USA offers a "Drive Wise Package" which is an additional $2,000, which includes things like blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, smart cruise control, etc. It sounds like the G70 already includes these features on the top 2 models, so we can expect the price to be at the very least $2k more than equivalent Stinger trims. But we all know it will be more than just that... But how much more? It's anyone's guess. My guess is it will be roughly 4K more than an equivalent stinger, before the drive wise package.

That said, my guess is this:

G70 Dynamic - $49,000 (AWD)
G70 Sport - $55,000 (AWD, this one will include the LSD)

Time will tell just how far off I am. Hopefully I'm close! I feel like this is a happy medium between Genesis trying to undercut Kia, and Genesis being snobby and having some moderate overlap with their higher tier models.
