  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Valet and Loaner Vehicles when your Car is being Serviced

Getting back to the topic of this thread, I think it's in the dealer's best interest to provide a Genesis loaner to all their customers, even lowly Hyundai owners.

The only reason I'm leasing a '15 Ultimate today is because my local dealer (Asheville Hyundai) provided a 1st generation Genesis sedan as a loaner several years ago while I was getting a new manual transmission installed in my 2010 Genesis Coupe.

Since that was the first time I had really driven a "luxury car", I was very quickly sold on the opulence of the Genesis sedan.

I think dealers could sell a lot more Genisises if they let everyone drive one, and it would make their customers happy.

Thanks for this thread, I just noticed that a Certified vehicle has a $50 deductible for repairs. On April 5, 2018, I traded a Certified 2015 Lexus GS 350 F Sport for a Cerified 2015 Genesis 3.8. On the Lexus Certified vehicles, there was not a deductible. Interesting.

That's a good strategy, but they typically only have so many demos available at one time. Demos are for test drives (for people shopping for a new car), and for loaners who are getting repairs. When it comes time to sell demos, they get a lot less for them than ones with less than 50 miles, so they aren't going to make their entire inventory available as demos/loaners.

My story is similar. Dealer was doing an upgrade on the ECU of my Sonata Limited and they bricked it. Could not get one until the next day. They had two cars for loaners. The service writer said, "we can't give him an Accent" so they gave me a 2014 Genesis. Some months later I bought a 2015. Smart move on their part.

You are right, it is in their best interest but that presumes that the dealer will be selling Genesis in the future. If not then where is the incentive?
