  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you pay for your Genesis G80?

Completely agreed. I am at around 49k + ttl on a g80 sport awd. The dealership is about 150 miles away. I am gunning at 45k + ttl. No easy task
be curious to hear how you do. 52K is about the best I've gotten from email correspondence. Even though some of the cars appear to have been offered for well over 6 months. Even more curious is the pricing of demo, low mileage and "executive driven" for the g80 sports. Seems there is barely any discount vs a hard bargained new car. Not sure if it is due to scarcity of used g80 sports but doesn't at all reflect the depreciation profile of other g80s. Any thoughts on the impact of 2019 models coming on line in a few months?

Which dealership are you dealing with in VA? I did not have a good experience with fitzgerald Hyundai at Rockville
Try Fitzgerald Hyundai at Lakeforest. Initially they played hard ball with their we don't haggle and always offer a fair price nonsense. But after seeing me three times in one week they found a "internal pricing error" at their Rockville location and would price match it, that knocked about 3-5k off msrp. Can't remember since this was last June. Really wanted to grab my g80 Sport from Fairfax Hyundai in VA since they've been amazing with my last two Sonata purchases. Fitzgerald is just much closer to home especially since I'm not a fan of traffic on 495. Best of luck to you. I recently started going to the Rockville location for service since they actually do the valet and popped in to see what they had on the lot. I saw alot of g80 sports out there, maybe one of them will have a pricing error. ;)

Anyone know about what I should be spending for a 3.8 RWD Premium package, leased, 12k miles per year?

I am in southern California. I do not want to put any down. I do want to take advantage of this holiday weekend.

I ended up getting $399/mo, tax included, for the 3.8 RWD premium. I put 1500 down which included the first payment.

What year is the car?

2018. It had a couple thousand miles on it, "demo" car that the dealership's kids probably drove around. Besides the number of miles, it seemed new by any measure I could see.

That still doesn't really tell us what the OTD price was. We don't know the terms of your loan/lease so just having a monthly payment amount is meaningless.

Cool.
Without being passive aggressive, you could have read the post literally above mine, by me, where I said I wanted to lease a 3.8 premium with 12k/year.

Well that narrows it down to 6 + dealerships----

zkinner

Here was my deal. Probably not the best ever but I worked hard to get this:
2018 Genesis G80 Sport (SIBERIAN ICE)
36 Months / 15K Miles
NO trade
Zero Down
$56,495 MSRP
$51,000 Negotiated Price
$1,500 Lease Rebate
$899 Doc Fee
Taxes, Tage, etc.
$735.03/Month

I got quoted around $54K on a AWD Sport with 36 month 12K miles at $833 lease so sound like I have room to negotiate. Seems like there is a $2500 rebate they listed so around $5K off MSRP seems the norm right now.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

The lease monthly rate ($399.00) seems low. Can you provide the full price of the car, that the lease was based on, residual value etc. You should find it in the paper work. Thanks

As I mentioned, the car was the dealership demo with a couple thousand miles.

Amount due at signing was $3500, $2000 of that was stuff I didn't pay for (various capital cost reductions, fees). $1500 of my cash was put down, which included first payment.

Total gross capitalized cost set to $42k. agreed value of the car was $40k.

Agreed value has to do with the max insurance will pay. Residual value (you didn't give it) Would need to be around $30k to get a $399 monthly payment. That seems high. Looks like you got 8k off MSRP, about right for a car with mileage. If you can live with the 12k mileage limitations, it should work out well.

I can not get anyone below $54K for a G80 Sport AWD. Some of this is the rarity of RED and AWD in the south. I am making a little progress on a demo car, why is it these stupid dealers take the hottest cars and demo them or give them to the sales manager. I found one with 2200 miles on it, let’s see what progress I can make.

They took them because all the Elantras they really wanted were spoken for.

Start calling dealers in the north. More awd and possibly better prices. Cost me $2k to fly and transport my car across country, but ended up being 8k less msrp.

I would if I were buying I would do that, but I am leasing and with how GA does TATV makes that a bit difficult.

In my opinion June & July could be the best month to buy a new Genesis. I have been tracking year over year sales since January. March down 21%, April down 26%, and May down a staggering 39%. This clearly has to do the relationship between HMA/GM and the dealers. Having no advertising since the NFL and dealers not being able to upsell 20k to 30k buyers to a 50k product. Dealers having inventory not moving forward with a Genesis dealership will blow them out. The other dealers that are moving forward won’t have much foot traffic until the G70 is released and the advertising campaign commences, whenever they maybe.

Some dealers already have started. The informed buyer knows this ad is too good to be true, however it diminishes the value proposition we owners and reputable dealers are working hard to promote. The dealership is in Hagestown, MD. You can smell the BS once you ask about the car.

Happy hunting!
