Here are a couple of pics
Thanks for the context. Man, i was hoping this was that big change a lot of the Ultimate owners were waiting for. I would gladly pay for that to be honest, even though others got it for free.
You didn't get the Ultimate. Right? Then, you don't need to spend a dime. You will need the original SD card that came with the car. I tried using a different one because I was terrified of screwing up the original and it wouldn't work. I first copied the files from the original to the new one. When that didn't work, I cloned the SD card. That didn't work either. I finally just installed the update on the original SD card.
It's an extremely slow process. Get the software from Android Auto Vehicle Software Update | MyHyundai.com. Your dealer should already have done that. But once you get registered, you should just download and install it.
I have really no idea why they included the whole map update. I use Android Auto so never need the built in map anyway. I'd have been perfectly happy just updating the system to AA. Anyway, it was a one afternoon thing.
Well...some progress...now when I go to myhyundai and enter in my VIN, it doesn't reject me out of hand. It lets me enter all of my info and then gives me a "Yo! You can't sign up for BlueLink here! Contact your local dealer!" and doesn't save the vehicle. Until I can actually save the VIN to my profile, I can't get to the screen that lets me download the update. Ugh.
Well, I DID get an email from Hyundai yesterday saying that they got the paperwork I sent them, and that it'll take a week or so for everything to come through...
It could be my phone but I found AA to be super annoying, and its laggy and slow, this is on my LG v20 and 2018 loaner, maybe it's not working properly for me?
A week or so. Wow. It took less than an afternoon when my dealer set it up. By the time I came back home, it was already available.
I bought my car from a Kia dealer. And they were waiting for my credit union to send them payment before they filed certain paperwork. The former is probably why it hadn't happened yet.
I got the check from my Credit Union before going out shopping. That speeded things up considerably and knowing that I was walking around with a check probably got them to deal faster as well. Maybe.
You're telling me that the maps don't update regularly?
What if there's major highway construction nearby? Like huge swaths closed?
Assuming the nav would be useless if it's not up to date.
There's no OTA updating going on there?
The update discussed in this thread is a downloadable version update with additional features added (POI, etc.), not the ability for the software to update real time situations when in use. You're telling me that the maps don't update regularly?
