  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Siberian Ice is only available on the 3.3T Sport in Canada.

In my opinion, Genesis has done a great job on colour selection. I considered colours I never would have otherwise -- usually green, red, and black wouldn't appeal.

I was somewhat hoping for a colour like BMW's Marina Blue, but in the end I'm glad I chose Siberian Ice. It's interesting without being too young / try hard.

Nice. Here’s that and another one called Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic (front facing)

Here are my thoughts on our color choices:

Adriatic Blue - beautiful but will require more attention to look great (more washing)
Casablanca White - clean and fresh looking, easy to keep clean, but fairly common
Forest Green (Special Edition) - attractive and unique, may not age as well, harder to keep clean
Havana Red - looks racey and attention grabbing (like most reds), may also get more attention from law enforcement
Himalayan Gray - safe and classy color that looks nice. luxurious and will likely age well
Mallorca Blue - right up there with red, this is a beautiful and popular color that will get attention and may be more suitable for younger drivers
Santiago Silver - classy looking color that is easier to maintain (less washing). May fade easier if left in sun (not sure if modern paint is less susceptible to this)
Siberian Ice - unique look and possibly more suitable for a younger driver, popular and trendy now, may not age as well.
Victoria Black - black is beautiful! but will require the most attention to maintain (lots of washing)

I'm surprised nobody else is interested in silver. I'm the only vote there... (some say silver is boring, not me). Adriatic Blue is my 2nd choice.

It'll be interesting to see the final poll; hope we get more votes before it closes. Thanks @Ed Okin for setting this up! May be interesting to poll on 2nd choice for colors too.

Your list is great! Nicely summarizes the pluses and minuses of each color.

Maybe you can do a second choice poll when this thread loses steam.

What quantities of each color are actually available remains to be seen. Perhaps our Canadian forum members can shed some light on that.

I feel like a kid making a Christmas list...

It would behoove them to offer a few of the more popular colors on the higher trim levels only. That way people considering making that couple thousand dollar jump to the next trim level will be pushed over the edge by that color that they just love and signifies a higher trim level.

The announced trim levels, do suggest that Genesis may follow Kia’s lead in offering limited color selection on the entry level vehicles. When I say “options” I mean the same thing as trim levels.

Kia has a pretty simple setup, with 2 options for the 2.0T and 3 options for the 3.3T.

Genesis Canada has 4 options for the 2.0T and 2 options for the 3.3T, plus everything except the manual is AWD.

For the US, there are 5 options for the 2.0T and 4 options for the 3.3T, not counting the manual and AWD v. RWD.

I suppose more choices are good to have. It will be fun doing a “build” when that is available, but realistically many of us may ultimately have to compromise a bit up or down, depending on what is locally available in the areas where we live. An idea for a later poll might be “How far would you travel to get your ideally-equipped G70?”

I personally love the way the silver looks with the dark chrome... however, a silver car just isn't for me. As much as I love the color and the look of the car in silver, I just cannot envision myself driving a silver car everyday. But if I see one, I will say "damn that's pretty"!

Silver for me as well. Agreed on it being very classy, without grabbing too much attention. I think it looks strong with the dark chrome accents, and could look even more aggressive by darkening said accents even more.

Good to have some company in the silver camp! While I agree the dark chrome accents and darker sport wheel might have a nice contrast with silver, I'm still preferring the polished alloy wheel and standard chrome here. That said, I'll be looking closely at both in person before deciding. I'm in my mid 50's and just thinking the dark sport 5-spokers might be a bit much for a more senior driver with no plans to hit the track; open to opinions! :)

That photo is one of the nicest looking G70s I've see to date. I'm reserving comment on the dark chrome until I actually see it in person.

Thus far I've certainly been partial to the 5-spoke sport rims; but, I gotta admit those 10-spokers look pretty dang good in that picture.

I usually go with white but love the Siberian ice. For me, it's a G70 if the price is right or I may go with the new Lexus ES which is redesigned for 2019 and still naturally aspirated. Will also hold value in a much better way.

Here is my Nurburg Green.

That color is so classy! I saw a 3.3TT with this color but it wasn't the sport trim so it had the normal chrome accents. I love how subtle it is and how in certain lights, it might look like gunmetal grey or something like that. The ultimate hipster choice would be a Serengeti Brown 2.0T Manual RWD but the green is more sensible. g70_brown.webp

What do you think of Serengeti Brown? It looks like black from certain angles.g70_brown.webpg80_brwon.webpg80_brwon1.webp

We should do this poll again. I think some of us may have different thoughts now that some time has gone by and/or we've seen the cars in person.
