  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

If no one has pointed this out in the preceding 70 pages, just remember how long the intro of the Stinger dragged out ... and dragged out. It may well be a purposeful Hyundai/Kia strategy to build up excitement and anticipation before release.

They needed extra time to complete the de-contenting and run the assembly line with "US Only" cars.

Reminds me of 1989 when both Lexus and Infiniti were to be introduced.

Lexus showed the cars, inside and out. Driving down the seashore. Just the way a car advertisement should be. People learned the name and knew what the car looked like.

Infiniti showed wheat fields blowing in the breeze. Ocean waves breaking on shore, but never showed the car.

Both brands were introduced at the same time. Guess which brand sold GREAT and which brand lingered in dealer showrooms. Still the same today. Lexus sells great. Infiniti, well I don't know how they are still in business.

I see Genesis doing the same thing Infiniti did 30 years ago.
Lexus and Genesis are in different leagues for now.

There are no Hyundai's or Genesis' at the Charleston port. They use Brunswick GA and Philadelphia PA.

That's not what my dealer said...in any case, wouldn't buy one now until maybe later next year, if something else doesn't catch my eye first.

And Kia dealers here are overloaded with Stingers...big discounts too.

Well, since we don't have a car to talk about, maybe advertising will have to do. I well remember the Lexus/Infinity launches, and I remember thinking that the Infinity was probably the better car, but it was just too weird looking to sell. (Don't forget Edsel.) And don't forget even further back, probably in the fifties. There was one commercial that EVERYBODY hated, BUT - everybody remembered it - and that is the whole point.

Hah. It's true. My Kia dealership just called me again, now stating they're offering up to $10k off Stingers. Too bad I don't want one, as now they're actually reasonably priced.

Per the Stinger. Beautiful car, however when sitting in the drivers seat, I had very poor visibility out the slanted rear windshield. The Stinger is s "Fastback" with a slanted window.

If it has better rear visibility, I'd probably have one sitting into garage right now.

I've not had a car with really good view out the back in 25 years. The camera solves the parking problem though, especially with the 360 view. Backing into my driveway is like playing a video game watching the screen. I don't think Stinger has that though.

This is something to me. I was born in 89. I have no clue about any of this. I really hope Genesis gets its act together so they can be around for a long time.

2018 doesn't, but they'll have it in the 2019s. The missing features is basically the reason I didn't go with a Stinger when they first came out.

This is what prevented me from getting the Stinger. I got the Audi S5 Sportback instead. Even though it's a similar hatchback type setup, the rear window is far more useful. Smaller C pillars too.

Definitely one of the negatives for the Stinger. Backing up isn't the issue with the cameras, but just general visibility out the back while driving. The G70 is much better in comparison.

Incredible - I think I've seen one or two on the road since inception. NOBODY willing to part with that much dough for a Kia - end of story.

I am in Richmond, VA...I have not seen a single Stinger on the road. I do not drive around alot...but I'm not a hermit either.

I'm in Miami, FL, one of the biggest Kia and Hyundai markets in the USA. I've not seen a Stinger on the street even though they are on sale at around $6000 less than MSRP on the three dealers I have at 10 miles radius from my house.
