  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Mercedes has the auto hold
With the Benz, you don't have to push a button for the auto hold, just push the brake pedal down a bit harder when you are stopped, and it automatically kicks in. At least thats how it works on my E350

I believe our RX350 has that as well but we never use it.

That is how it worked on my 2013 E3650 also.

Wow, really? Every time I start my car, one of the buttons I push before backing out of the garage is the Brake Hold button. It is IMO one of the finest inventions since the car itself ... no more having to keep pressingon the brake pedal at stoplights until my knee aches.

I just don't understand why the "ON" position isn't the default! (But I feel the same way about the Cruise Control.)

And by the way, LOTS of car brands have it - I know my previous Lexus and Acuras had it, as well as my two Kia Optimas.

I guess I should give it a try. I also never use LKA - find it annoying. I don't need the car to tell me I need a coffee break:)

For getting those Stinger numbers they had to make huge discounts (around $5500 or more off MSRP) I don't think that's good at all.

Even w/ the discounts, lease deals are better BMWs and MBs, not to mention something like the Infiniti Q50 RS.

For a while, the Stinger GT2 was a good bit more to lease than the Q50 RS.

There were a couple of prospective GT2 buyers who ended up getting the Q50 RS b/c they couldn't pass up on the deal (paying around $450/month instead of around $700).

W/ lease cash, Kia has narrowed the margin, but still cheaper to get into a Q50 RS than a GT2.

Crazy I guess due to the residual values. I don't lease but this makes sense.

So...anyone watch NFL last night? Any G70 commercials?

Also...really wonder if anything will be release this week...even pricing. According to the guy I talked to...the end of this week would fall in his "about 2 week" range. Also...if they did release on Friday...they would officially stand by their summer release date (ending Sat). Nobody could harp on them. Yeah you cannot get the car yet...but releasing the pricing and the online configurator could be noted as a release.

They miss Friday with anything substantial...everyone will be all over them for missing a massive deadline.

Just a thought.

I think it's actually the high money factor moreso than the residual (although neither is great)

If they do release the pricing as well as configuration on Friday then it would most likely get revealed at or around 12 PM to 1 PM. Those are usually the time frame that they update/upload there press information.

You keep talking about the prices when leasing. Don't mean a thing.

How many months????

How many miles??????

How much down payment?????

These figures you throw in is just to get you on the door.

BTW, I only buy.

Even if they release a price by Friday, I wouldn't call that a "release date." That's a release of information, not a release of the car. We've had information for about a year now, and while not for that long, information about the US release for months. A bit more information -- and price is critical information -- would be very welcomed, but it's a far cry from the release of the actual car.

Let's face it, the will utterly fail to have the car out during the summer of 2018, as they announced earlier in the year. I understand why that happened but continue to believe that they should have foreseen the dealership and licensing issues which appear to have blind-sided them.
I'm still hopeful that the G70 will be a car that appeals to me. But as for managing its US release, it's been pretty much a disaster on management's part.

I emailed Kevin Smith from PR yesterday and told him that I was tired of waiting without solid information and said I'd walk if he couldn't tell me pricing. He replied back that pricing would be revealed later this week "barring any unforeseen issues," but he couldn't tell me pricing right then and there so I'm not waiting around anymore. Good luck to you guys, but after all these months with little to no information, I just don't have enough confidence in the brand to wait it out any longer.

Well...end of summer is Saturday. You gotta give them 4 days...c’mon

I think we’re getting very close.

So after waiting months you can't wait three more days? Here is a hint from Car and Driver

It would have been smart of them to hire a few guys from this forum.
