  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This gives us something to do while we wait...

This only allows 10 choices so I could not include AWD v RWD or the two launch editions, so if you want one of those, just pretend they’re sold out.

Where's Design and Dynamic?

Since I'm not buying a G70 I did not vote. If I was though, for me it is always all or nothing so a 3.3 Prestige. One factor for that is the HUD. Surround view monitor is nice too. Once you have things like that you don't want to give them up. I'd have thought the Sport would have the HUD.

The Sport DOES have the HUD. It is added at the Prestige level...and carries to Sport.

Then they should list it.

No they shouldn't...usually every model contains options from the lower trim. They just list what the trim adds. Why would you repeat every option. That is usually done with a grid type setup which they do not have.

If something is removed...they usually mention that, etc.

Anyways, 3.3T Sport for me or bust. The 2.0T does not interest me at all for this car.

The US manual sport doesn't have the HUD. The features it has are all listed by EdP added onto the base G70. You can tell because if it were addimg onto a trim mentioned prior, then it would be redundant with features like the memory seating, heated and ventilated seats, etc. It's not going to be super loaded like the Canadian manual; hell, even the Canadian manual didn't have the HUD I think.

^ yes, the CAD 6MT has HUD as well as many other features...just not the ventilated front seats.

Dang, that's pretty generous and I didn't expect that much. The Canadian G70s are a much better value than the US ones, especially considering AWD... I blame dealerships. Anyway, my point still stands that the US manual features are based on top of the base trim.

This model says it builds on the Prestige but no reference on the MT. Seems the MT is stripped somewhat.

No version of the 4-cylinder holds any interest for me. I understand the appeal of the manual transmission but I much prefer the more powerful engine. It's 3.3 Sport AWD for me. I might have a bit of wiggle room on colors but not on model. And even where colors are concerned, I'd say there are only about 3 I'd be interested in. I think at this point I'm fairly indifferent where the color of the stitching on the interior is concerned. The real issue at this point is whether delayed availability of what I actually want leads to patient waiting or just looking for something else.

I wonder if they're initially making 2.0s more available (based on reports of incoming cars that have been listed here) as a way of pushing them out there and getting them sold during the first wave of enthusiasm, anticipating that there will be more sustained demand for the 3.3. Just wondering.

Yeah the MT is stripped because most people aren't going to fool with it anyway. Otherwise, the Sport has the most features. It's the highest level trim in both 2.0T and 3.3T. The manual just doesn't follow the trims for the most part. I would think of that separately.

^ perhaps, but only for the US market. CAD 6MT gets much of the 3.3T Sport goodies, and actually has more performance bits that the 3.3T, but lacks a few of the luxury items like vented seats. we get all of the performance goodies and then some, and most of the luxury items. the more i read the more obvious it is that Genesis got it right for the CAD market - well balanced and clearly a great value. i suppose the market research said US buyers really wanted those vented seats but very few of the nice-to-have's. seems odd to me but i'm no business major.

a few years ago when more 6MT sport sedans were available, the 6MT trim was often either the top-trim or very near it. they usually came loaded except for AWD in some cases and the slushbox (obviously). clearly Genesis thinks the 6MT buyer has now shifted to a more enthusiast-focused buyer than every before.

^ not sure what the strategy will be for the US market, but up north i see more 3.3T's around. 2.0T's are much more rare, especially the 2.0T Sports. i've seen one or two 2.0T non-sport (not sure what trim). 3.3T Sports are by far the most common that i've seen - but even at that the G70 is still very rare. i haven't seen another one in a couple weeks on my daily commute.

Very true. I'm in the US market, as is EdP I believe so that's the market I was referring to.

Anyone know if there is a way to view the results without voting? I am curious what the split between 4 and 6 cylinder will be. And I don't want to vote as I will not be buying a car in the US...
