G70 US Availability?

I own a 2010 genesis coupe and had the turbo blow at 30k miles, replaced all under warranty. After 2013 I believe they just changed the turbo, from a single scroll to a double. However since I had my turbo replaced, I’ve put another 50k miles on it with no issues (tuned for 40k of the 50k miles). I’ll be trading in my baby for the G70 but I have NO issues with reliability especially since I had the first model year of a new car (which I’m doing again with the g70)

Good to know! I know someone who had a 1G Genesis 2.0T Coupe with the 6MT and he had to have the transmission replaced due to bad syncros or something causing it not to go into gear (I want to say 2nd or 3rd gear). I imagine the new G70 6MT is essentially the same version of the trans, but maybe he just had a fluke.

1G manual gen coupes did have this problem and it was widespread so your friend is right. I’m on an auto so I didn’t have to worry about that but my past experience leads me to be wary about Hyundai/ genesis manual trannys. However I do not know if it’s the same one or if they’ve updated. Hope they did because they got torn apart for that problem and caused a lot of bad will for some people

Well hopefully they did improve it. I can’t imagine it’d be an all new transmission seeing that it’s a similar engine and for cost reasons.

Yeah but the trims and such are different so it doesn't really help.

For those getting blue balls who have never sat in a G70, it seems like they are making a tour across the US auto shows, starting with Anaheim, Miami, SF, Phoenix, then LA this year. Just got this info in an email from Genesis about their outing at Monterey car week. You might not get to see one in the dealers this year so why not

I stopped in a (Hyundai) dealership in the Atlanta area last night. A salesman gave me a brochure, but didn't have a date that they were getting them in. This dealer is going to get their own Genesis branch soon, but they still plan on selling them before the new spot opens.

Rick Case has 2 Genesis dealers at 20 miles distance each other. I would say it's one of the biggets Genesis dealers in Florida. The one in Davie has 28 G80 in stock and the other in Plantation has 14. I would not hesitate to say that they will be getting the G70 in the next few days.
