G70 US Availability?

They don't have them in inventory on their site so couldn't tell. Since I'm interested in the G80 Sport I haven't looked into the pricing of the G70s other than what I have seen on here. Seemed high to me but wasn't sure.
Yeah...should be $51,500 + destination.
 
Well I almost had a red dynamic edition today. Slapped a 2500 deposit because I didn’t have time to purchase today. He brings the price to us and they tacked a 5k premium to the sticker! Out the door was 58k and change!!!! I was livid. We walked away. I would have been the first one in Va to have this car. So bummed but I’m not gonna pay OVER sticker.

The drive was incredible. The interior was amazing. I also drove a 2.0 L and it wasn’t even close. Plus the seats aren’t real leather. Don’t let them fool you! The whole feel of the cabin felt much cheaper than the 3.3 L.

I guess I will have to wait until the excitement wears off. The dealer said that someone will pay that price so they were not willing to negotiate. UFB!!!

He also said that the other genesis dealers aren’t allowed to sell 2019 cars. I think that’s a line of BS.

There were a lot of people looking at the cars today.

So bummed I need a glass of wine now.

Wow what a shitty experience. This kind of stuff needs to be made known, that dealer will gouge you. Do a yelp and google review on them.

is this the "premium" customer treatment Hyundai was promoting through Genesis-only exclusive dealerships? 5k Above MSRP ?! are you kidding me?! I rather deal with the non-premium crooks at regular Hyundai dealerships.

When you get you G70 from a DIFFERENT dealer make sure to stop in and ask for the sales manager. This is why the Canadian system of same price for everyone works well.
 
It is a privilage for any mainstream car dealer to get full MSRP on a new car! The thought of these douchebags to include a 5k FU fee adds insult to injury. Sure my dealer added $1,500 to the sticker for nitrogen and wheel locks, did I pay it?

So I replied to something...then I either caught myself stating incorrect information...or the OP changed the post I was replying to.
 
I just sent them an email asking about it, will post if they answer.
I'm sure it includes all of the dealer-installed options such as wheel locks, mud guards, floor lines, trunk liner, door sill appliqué, paint protection, etc.
 
Genesis may be missing the boat here. The G70 beats the current BMW 340i in every way ((performance, luxury, warranty and value). It competes with the next gen 340i in warranty and value only. Result? Lost sales.

Well the next Gen 330i are actually slower than the current 330i but I am sure it will drive better, plus the M340i isnt going to be in the market until later. So Genesis have a bit of time, but I think the problem is that now G70 is competing with heavily discounted 340i

If this gouging on the part of dealers continues, I think it will really spell trouble for the Genesis brand. I'm certainly not about to pay a fake premium for the car and I suspect that most of us here won't. There may be people that walk in off the street, haven't done any research, and think the inflated price is fair for what the car offers. But there just can't be enough people buying in this segment who would shop in such an unprepared way to make this gouging a viable approach for dealerships. It might work now while availability is so limited but in the near term as more cars hit lots, that's just not going to fly. And personally, I'd avoid a dealership that gouged early on even if they eventually switch to more realistic pricing. It just leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

I'm in no hurry and Genesis isn't the only car I'd consider. If it loses its value due to overcharging, much of its appeal evaporates. Eventually, the dealerships will need customers more than the customers will need any one specific car. Dealerships that realize that sooner will do better in the long run by not alienating their potential buyers.

All of our G70s come with all weather floor mats ($295), tint ($395), and paint and fabric protection treatment ($495). They are not available to view today but should be soon. Another form of gouging. I have never paid any dealership of any brand these extremely overpriced add-ons. My retort has always been, you put on, you pay for them. These types of add-ons are pure profit makers and cost the dealership pennies on the dollar. I have walked out of more than one dealership refusing to eliminate these types of charges. I have, also, had many come back to make a deal without these charges.
 
Just got a text from a dealer in Atlanta area. One arrived in a truck yesterday, and he said a truck just came in with 5 more.

That is ridiculous. $1,200 wasted. I would ditch the floor mats...not like they are permanent.

To add...if the cars just arrived...and you claim one...you can tell them immediately not to do any of that. I doubt any of that has been done yet !!!

Crap. I wouldn’t put anything on those beautiful Nappa leather seats. I hope some stupid dealer doesn’t put that on and f$&@ them up. If the tint was done well, perhaps...but I doubt it.
 
He emailed me again and said he will let me know when the inventory was updated if I wanted him to. I told him I was getting info for a forum and we will be watching it. I also told him that his dealership is getting skewered for adding on all of that crap. I told him hopefully those are discounted as soon as the dealing starts. Also said he shouldn't put anything those seats. ;) My guess is I won't be hearing back from him.

Edit: Beefer pointed out that Jim Ellis and Genesis of Atlanta are the same place, so it looks like all/most of their G70s are listed twice [once at each dealer name].
