I've ask the dealer if I was eligible for a loaner now as Hyundai is advertising loaner on the G80/90. I was told NO because I did not have a Genesis, I had a Hyundai Genesis. Because there's an H on the trunk it's NOT a real Genesis.
Has anybody had a loaner good or bad experience on a 2015 -2016 "Hyundai" Genesis?

Unfortunately we get shafted on this even though the cars are the same except the name, but when I first we to my dealership for service, they gave me a base gen 1 for loaner. Now first off a lot of dealerships don't even offer loaners I'm told, so be grateful they will give you something. But I did mention how that is kind of BS and the service manager agreed with me and the following trips to them they always have given me a brand new G80 to drive as a loaner.

But of course you can always be polite and see what happens next time, so far this dealership has been pretty good to me, addressed all of my issues and each time I got to drive a ultimate 2018 G80.

Really? Did you get the shaft and pay the Genesis 2017-18 pricing. I am sure if you offered to pay the difference, which you should ”since they are basically the same car”, they would offer you a loaner 😊

If a dealer decides to give you a loaner, it is entirely up to them, not Hyundai, the manufacturer or Genesis, a new corporation that did not exist when you car was made.

Yes, I had a good experience when a Hyundai dealer gave me a Genesis loaner when they cooked the ECU on my Sonata.

Supporting Member... so I didn't pay the price? This 2015 is my 3rd Genesis 2008, 2013 and 2015 and 1 2001 Azera. Is that enough money? And a newbie comes in and buys 1 2018 and he gets the loaner. In plain English that's plain BS to a long term customer. If I don't get a loaner I'm thru with them.

For anybody interested the dealer is Central Ave. Huyndai, Hartsdale, NY.

I would disagree with you on that. You bought three cars, congratulations! Hopefully you got what you were promised and paid for. Do you think the people who bought from the Genesis Corporation would say they got screwed because you got loaners but didn’t have to pay Genesis prices. Step up, pay the price and get the benefits.

I used to buy my lunch most every day at the same deli but they never gave me free delivery. I just got a good sandwich, no free lunch.

When you buy a new G90, 80, or 70, you are paying in advance for the service and loaner. You got your cars cheaper because it is not included. You may be a welcomed repeat customer, but you are not anything special. Really, just a good customer. The newbie gets the loaner because he is paying for it.

My wife thinks I'm special, but Genesis just thinks I'm a paying customer. That is all you are too.

Now, you say you are through with them if you don't get a loaner. Who wins? Not you, instead of a good value Genesis you will pay thousands more for a similar car of another brand. Yeah, that'll show'rm.

I got the loaner regardless, so I could care less lol. But I do get what you're saying, I'll take it as a nice gesture from hyundai to offer me a new G80 to drive.

When I took my 2015 Hyundai Genesis in to the local Hyundai dealership for some work covered by warranty last November, I was given a 2017 G80 as a three-day loaner. A relatively ‘plain Jane’ G80, but a Genesis just the same.

I guess you people don't believe companies should show some appreciation on customer loyalty. Comparing 9 years of cars to a deli? Is ridiculous!

As for the dealer they've begged me for a 10 every time I brought the car in... and I did even though there where times when it wasn't. I've also brought all those cars to the dealer for all their maintenance over 9 years. If I every purchase another Hyundai product it won't be from them.

I have to say do some of you work for Hyundai.... it sure looks it.

So... this just my personal experience. I have gotten several loaners from the dealer without question. Are they a Genesis? No. Do I ask for a Genesis? No. My thought process is if they are going to give me a loaner for free I'm not going to bitch about what it is. It allows me to get home and back to the dealer when necessary. I do think it is dealer specific on how / what goes into their loaner fleet.

I just had a loaner for a week. It was not a Genesis. It fact, it was the exact opposite of a Genesis. Yay, Elantra GT! BUT I will say this. For a base model 4 door hatch. It was kind of fun to drive around. Towards the end it was getting a little lame but once I got my car back, the appreciation for my car was indescribable.

Maybe one day they will surprise me with a G80 loaner but if they don't I won't hold it against them. I'm already holding a warranty over their head for the next 8 years. Heh heh heh.

I can see both sides of the argument though. If I dropped >$40 or $50,000 on a vehicle I would want to be treated with some decency at the service department. Especially if it was a new car. Few years later? meh..

For the record, their reasoning is pretty BS. Not a real Genesis. PFFT. I can't say I wouldn't be peeved in your shoes, especially being a long-term customer. Chalk it up like telco companies and insurance. You are a digit in their system. Sad but true.

Never worked for Hyundai but did work for companies that made a profit. You can treat customers well but you can't give away too many freebies or you won't make a profit any more. When one of our biggest customers became too demanding, we told them to go elsewhere. Turned out to be a good decision as their new supplier went out of business.

It would be great if the dealer treated you well with a loaner, but your sense of entitlement is misplaced. They have no obligation. Anything you get is pure bonus from the dealer. That new G80 owner is entitled because he paid for that privilege; you did not, yet you think you are being treated unfairly. He is not special either, but he paid for his privilege. He paid for those "free" oil changes. No reason you should be jealous or demand equal treatment as you are not equal.

I have been given a G80 every time I brought my car in. But they don't have to and I always call in beforehand to reserve it and I didn't even buy my car from my local dealer. The dealer I bought it from.......fahgettaboudit

I completely sympathize with you (I am not in the auto business), but unfortunately you live in the NY tri-state area, in Westchester County with the highest taxes in the nation (on a county by county comparison), like many of us do, and get poor customer service from everywhere (retail to government).

All dealers in this area are crap, even the high end ones. If you bring your BMW for service to Ray Catina, but bought it at a different dealership, don't expect a loaner car. Same for Pepe autogroup, if from elsewhere, you are on your own.

If you buy a G80, you can get a loaner at any Genesis dealer, it is a corporate program (I think Lincolns too), this is the difference, and it is built into the price.

I have yet to see a good dealership in the NY tri-state area, let alone a great one.

Some dealerships in other parts of the country are nicer, so they give out loaners on their own dime. I travel and have been to dealers in other parts of the country and the difference is night and day from what is in this area. Give a loaner in this area and it becomes a beater by customers, aka "its a rental, don't be gentle" trying things you would never do on your own car. Other parts of the country aren't like this (though some are). This is the other problem, people in the area don't respect other people's property so they don't get the perks others get.

Remember, Central Park Hyundai used to be in White Plains on Westchester Ave, were I you probably bought your car, as that was the location before the Genesis switch over to a brand. It was a slimy and sleazy place, they promised every owner a loaner (signs on the wall) but never delivered (the wait would be months as they had like 2 loaners) but did this to say they "had them". They moved, but they are still that same dealership base (they just are in a new building so they look good, but its all a show)

Your right, you really need to investigate your dealership, and price is not everything.

If you do get a G70/80/90 you will get that loaner, but for them to take on all those additional Genesis owners would have put a new company out of business.

I hear you, but part of it is the area.....
