  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

US dealers who actually have the G70 available for sale.

Yeah iv read the color combo you want and i have one question, would you say the SI color is comparable to nardo gray ? and what did you feel performance wise? did it give you the tickle? lmao
Yes same style of paint as the Audi Nardo...but much lighter. Love the Nardo color.

Performance wise...as fast as an S4/S5. Feels quicker than the C43 AMG.

It sure did tickle as well...especially when I was out back playing with the exhaust ;)

yeah the Nardo is a favorite of mine, i initially was gana go for the red. wait wait how about Ceramic silver on the stinger that color im inlove with which is comparable to Nardo.

lol god i cant wait to drive it and feel it for myself its been a long time coming ! hows your search coming along btw?

I haven't seen anything on them. Have you checked with them if they applied to be a Genesis dealer? Many have decided not to.
I haven
t checked but their website is Liberty Genesis - wouldn't that mean something?

Patiently waiting.

No, not for sure. That could have been for the prior years. In order to sell the Genesis models starting with 2019 they need to get relicensed. Could be it is still in process.

Something I learned today...

So...these dealers get cars. When they sell cars...they get “points”.

Unless a dealer gets a set amount of points...they will not get allocated more cars.

So if you contact a dealer for a request...even if you put $5k down...unless they sell...you will never get your car.

Until a dealer sells enough...they’ll get more allocation. So you could be on an indefinite wait list.

So if you really want a car...work with a dealer that churns sales.

Also...a dealer with no “points” cannot request an allocation from a port. Until they sell...custom orders are not allowed.

Hope that makes sense.

Btw...I know this from taking to exec’s. I’ve hounded them pretty good.

Thanks for the info Beefer. The "Business Plan" seems to get curiouser and curiouser. It will be interesting to see what happens when the cars eventually get to California. Literally, I cannot remember the last time I bought a car 'off the lot'.

I was in Phoenix for the day and the North Scottsdale dealership said they finally have all their paperwork complete for Genesis and expect to see G70s within the next two weeks. I'll believe it when I see it. Also, manager said cars will be sold at MSRP.

Thanks, hopefully it is true. We will keep an eye out but let us know if you see them there.

The dealers in North Carolina have gone silent and will not respond to emails any longer...at first they were hopeful back in September about having the vehicle 'in a few weeks', and now nothing. I wish they would at least respond and say there is no new news...but they won't even do that. I guess in this case, no response IS the response, which makes me reluctant to deal with them at all going forward. I have leased 5 Infiniti vehicles in the last 18 years...loved every single one of them, but their dealerships were crap...and they kept getting crappier. On 3 separate occasions they damaged my vehicles to the point of needing to go to the body shop for repairs. After the last time, when my lease was up, I walked away. I have also leased Lexus and Mercedes in this same time period, and the Lexus dealerships are by far the most impressive. The dealer experience is of equal importance in my mind, and I think it will take Genesis some time to get established to make a mark. Right now, with their current mode of behavior, I am not impressed.

When I bought my first Hyundai Tucson, in 2011, I went to the two nearest dealers. One had 3 Tucsons. The other had about 20. I bought from the one that had 20 because they had the color and trim I wanted.

Then, 6 years later needed to replace it (due to accident; no injuries thankfully) and went to the same two dealers. One had 7 Tuscons, the other had more than 50. So dealer two had proven their sales cabability where dealer one had not.

Curiously, the dealer that can’t sell cars actually has a really good service department and the dealer with a great sales department has mediocre service. Strange but true. 😮

Not seeing a lot of 3.3T Sports on these listings. I know 2.0T is the standard for this type of car, but unless you want the manual (have seen none of those) I thought Genesis would be putting out more of the V-6s.

250hp is plenty for most people, auto or manual. The extra money for the V6 also eliminates a lot of buyers. When i worked for a BMW dealer we sold way more 328s than 335s I doubt the mix is much different for Genesis, MB or Audi.

Kia projected the majority of Stinger sales to be the 2.0T, but have sold more of the 3.3T than they were expecting.

2.0T sales are probably disappointing; so quite possible that Genesis has made the same error in their projections.

In other markets (like Australia), there virtually is no demand for the 2.0T Stinger, but a 3 month wait for the 3.3T.

While the upcoming 2.5T should be sufficient power for a majority of buyers, there is demand w/in a certain segment of buyers for higher performance variants.

Hyundai has smashed sales projections for its N-division in Europe.

Sales target for this year was 2,800 and thru Sept., they have far surpassed it w/ total sales of 4,678 (about 60% of sales to Germany); there's also a 3 month wait for the i30N.

And Hyundai is about to launch the i30N Fastback.

Hyundai is expecting their N-division to hit 12k in sales next year.

Yeah I guess I'm just different, but I really don't see why anyone would buy the 2.0T. That's just me though.

I feel the other way around. I don't see a need for over 300hp. I don't use high amounts of horsepower outside of on-ramps, which would be like twice a day at most without people in front, and using it elsewhere would basically force going 60+ mph on a 45 limit road to have fun. I could understand if there's a quiet/big road with lots of sharp turns that allow you to slow and accelerate several times, but otherwise wringing out the car would just be a hazard.

But I'll be the first to admit I'm an overly cautious driver. Feel free to bring up counterpoints, as I've been looking for opportunities to use strong acceleration.
