  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I'm not worried about the electronics insofar as the headunit. I don't agree with reviewers negatively pointing out the headunit is pulled from other Hyundai/Kia products. It's been thoroughly used, issues fleshed out and it has Android auto/apple carplay.
There has still been some issues. The Stinger which has the exact same unit has had some problems with random audio cutout and such. Nothing big, but still. I just know that the adaptive cruise control, lane keep, and all that is somewhat connected and I wouldn't want to have to pay to replace it. It's just something to think about. I think quality wise, they don't have too many problems so probably not much to worry about. I wanted peace of mind for my wife's vehicle which uses a similar system so I got the warranty.

You made a good choice in purchasing the warranty. We have the Platinum Warranty on both the Genesis G80 and the Hyundai Kona.

It pays for itself in the long run and if you decide to sell the car in 3 years, you can recoup the cost thru Genesis if you trade in, in cash or towards to purchase of the newer car. Or transfer to the new owner if you decide to sell it outright. It's a good selling point for you with the new owner. You're passing on the reassurance the vehicle is in good stead, even after the sale is completed.

I think I read somewhere that Hyundai incresed the electronic devices like radio, navigation and Bluetooth warranty to 5 years starting on 2016 but that's not the case of Genesis.

I don’t that you are correct for 2017 and on. Here is the quote from my Genesis G90 manual and I doubt it’s any different for any Genesis models.

Radio, CD/DVD Player, Navigational system, Bluetooth
5 YEARS/60,000 MI

I posted a link to the warranty earlier in the thread. The radio/multimedia is indeed 3 years.

Here it is...Warranty Info...

Your link is not to a US site. It’s not applicable. I am saying the US 2017 Owner’s Handbook & Warranty Information clearly says 5 years 60,000 miles for multimedia and radio

Well in that case...we need to get it from a 2019 G70 handbook....not 2017.

Last week I read an article that mentioned the same thing. Genesis warranty is bumper to bumper 5/60k. I assume for the 2019s it will be the same.

G70 offers superb coverage in this area. This Genesis sedan comes with the same exceptional warranty as its Hyundai cousins: 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage and 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper protection. This includes multi-media, radio, electronics and everything except tires. This is straight from Genesis. You get 3 years free and BlueLink Service, which has to do with the Multi-Media.

Once again Beefy, you're incorrect. The International and Canadian Warranties are different.

Actually you are wrong once again...and talking out your ass.

The truth.

I called Genesis...multimedia, etc. is covered for 5 years. So you did confirm that...partially.

BUT...the 5-year warranty is limited. It is NOT bumper to bumper. First I have heard of that. They are really being careful to cover what is a manufacture's defect...vs something you as the owner broke.

You posted good info Spanky, don’t degrade it with that those closing remarks. (y).
Wholeheartedly agree. Keep the snark to yourself.

So spanky...go jerk off with your bible club...and hang out in forums where someone might care to have you there.

@beeefer and @Spanky61 Please, this petty BS between any forum members is uncalled for and detrimental to the quality, focus, and decorum of the forum. Enough already to any and all who get into these pissing matches.

Fair enough...but to be clear...I do not start this crap. I post stuff...here and there...try my best to be correct. If I am wrong I admit to it.. I am on the defensive here...and he has posted enough shit today attacking me that I have ignored...and have enough.

This goes for him attacking TurtleBoy...just endless BS.

Anyhoo...back on topic. Thanks.

And...ready for this...the official Press Release from Genesis DOES state it is bumper-to-bumper. So...calling Genesis did nothing...lady was wrong. Or the PR is wrong...since it was prior to the car even being released.
Genesis Newsroom

If anyone out there has a G70...can you look at the manual, etc in the glove-box and let us know 100%.

This is right out of the last page of the brochure...clearly states Limited Warranty. It then says to see dealer on what Limited Warranty means...LOL...

Thank you.

I wonder how much of the delay is due to legal issues and court cases. I also read an article that some states may not be allowed to sell the brand. That article said Louisiana but I see a dealer is selling the cars there according to Larry's list so maybe it was worked out.

And the cars continue to sit at port. As a side note are we still looking at build dates anywhere?

Genesis barred from selling in Louisiana

Don't like to be so pessimistic, not in my nature.

Well...as it stands now...there are a few States that are still not licensed to sell Genesis. I think Texas is even suing. So that is a mess.

Next...once the State can sell...individual dealers have to get their Franchise License to sell within the State. As you can tell...some dealers did their homework...and got it done...and have cars on their lots. Some dealers poked along...and screwed up. Example is my 2 dealers in Richmond, VA...sheesh.

So continues to be a mess...but they are becoming available. Now for the remaining 5 States I think it is...who knows.

TurtleBoy knows about it more than me...perhaps he can add what I missed.

Louisiana settled and the situation down there may have been the impetus for Genesis accelerating their plans for becoming a separate entity. I think Texas may be the only state that we heard there was a lawsuit but it is tough to tell. Genesis has said they are licensed in 45 states (in September) but when using their dealer locator, no dealers show up in 36 states. I guess it could be a case of just the franchising and dealer licensing taking that long.

I had hoped that any forum members who have viewed the cars in person or those few who have purchased had an opportunity to post build date details.
