  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Then no need to worry about it if you were going to get it anyway. Just forget about it and enjoy the car. Whether you think you paid too much is neither here nor there at this point since you agreed to the deal. The length of the standard infotainment warranty should effect that thinking since in the end you have exactly what you wanted. Hopefully that makes sense.
They got the extended because they were lied to that electronics were for 3 years. Not okay. BS.

Yes it totally makes sense. I just hate being lied to. But my husband shares your same line of thinking....I am just pissed right now.

I would feel that same way. My guess is that you weren't lied to on purpose but rather they do not know the details of the warranty especially if you have it in writing. You may be able to get a few bucks from them if you still have that paper but it would be so hard to calculate a value on that. Just enjoy.

I'm only going by what she posted above saying she would have gotten the extended warranty no matter what.

To add...even if extended was considered...it can be purchased a couple of months before it ends.

Because they told me that the infotainment was 3 years. It was in writing and I believed them, so we bought the xtended warranty.

Had I known it was 5 years, I would have passed on it and just wait until 4.5 years. Soooo, yeah, that did scare me into buying it sooner than later. Also, the convo happened in front of smokey breath and we really didn’t have much time to think about it nor have privacy. It definitely was OUR decision...nobody made us do it. We like the peace of mind since I will have Lucy for a long time. I’m more pissed that they misled us.

But, like Turtleboy said, what’s done is done. I’m pissed and will probably say something to them regardless of outcome.

Nuff said...they got scammed.

What, are you trying to be like someone else on here. LOL. She said "Either way, we would have gotten an extended warranty but I do believe we paid too much"

If you still have it in writing I think you can legitimately go back, show them the paper, show them it is wrong, and ask for your money back.

Just to play devil's advocate, why didn't you pass on it and wait 2.5 years? Just want to make sure if you do try and get it undone, don't use that as your reasoning. ;)

@Beefer and @TurtleBoy Have we lost awareness of my post just a few hours ago? Cool it with the pissing contests.

Y’all, let me clarify...things are getting mixed up...this is how it went down:

Sitting in the smokey breath’s finance office, he showed us a piece of paper, and on it, typed out was all the warranties. I cannot remember the exact wording b/c they didn’t give us the paper. It outlined the warranty info...One line item was 3 years, 36k miles (or something like that) that referenced the tech...main computer module, infotainment, whatever they called it. It was the first time I’d seen that. So then he flips the paper over and drew us an info graphic, that very clearly showed how if we bought the platinum package, we would be covered bumper to bumper for 10 years, including the tech.

Before I saw that 3 year BS, I was gonna tell him to STFU and continue...but I stopped and thought well shit, if the car breaks down due to a main computer failure, I need a better warranty. So we went for it...maybe we are stupid or maybe they are good sales people. Or both!

Then afterward, we got all this info on the forum that we shouldn’t pay so much for xtended.

I knew at the time of sale that we could buy an extended warranty later on. But I Was scared at that 3 year timeline, so I decided w/ my husband, to purchase it.

All in all, I will complain to them and if I have to I’ll put it on social media. I will give them a chance to make it right. I’d like it to be cut in half. But if we get nothing what’s done is done. Like I said before, I do love the car and we have 4 million times over coverage on everything. For 10 years.

Thanks for the story, it is a shame that happened. You may want to see what they say but more than likely it is a standard tactic unfortunately. As Larry or someone posted yesterday, don't buy a thing in the finance office.

My guess is that as you are driving down the road in that beautiful car, you will knot be thinking of the warranty situation. (y)

Perhaps not...but money earned is not necessarily money spent:)

On another note, I’m typing out my first impressions and have some great pics. Will post soon. Hope not to offend the forum rules but I think y’all may be intrested in the nitty gritty nit pick assessments :)
Of course...share!!!!!!!!!!!!!
