  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

US dealers who actually have the G70 available for sale.

I know I looked at a site for the Hilton Head location and verified that 2019's were showing in inventory. I don't remember though if it was a Genesis site or a Peacock auto. If it was the latter, I wonder if they allocated the inventory internally in anticipation of selling in the state since they have dealers in Georgia. Obviously pure speculation.

Edit: I see you posted something similar while I was composing this. Make sense.

It was the Genesis of Hilton Head website. I have been monitoring it daily for weeks.

Honestly, this is getting kind of ridiculous. I've been looking at other options lately and I think I'm ready to pull the plug on the G70. If I were certain how long the wait would be, I might hang around for one. But the goal posts keep moving. Credible official information from Genesis has been sparse and I don't find that encouraging. The initial flourish of dealerships seems to have stalled, without even South Carolina having any. Absurd.

I'm confident the G70 is a great car but may not be the best fit for my personal preferences. Of course, I can't say that definitively because I can't actually drive one.

I was quoted a killer price on a '19 Mustang GT with pretty much every feature I want. I might jump at it. It would cost appreciably less out the door, tax, tags, the whole schmeer, than the sticker price on the G70, excluding all the taxes and so forth, even figuring the $1000 competitive incentive. And it might actually give me more of what I want. Luxury/amenities are very nice, though probably not quite as nice as the G70. Infotainment (Sync 3) is arguably better than Genesis. The Mustang lacks AWD, HUD, and 360 degree camera (I can live with those omissions) but has a gorgeous digital dash, very nice ambient lighting (you can even change the color of the lighting), and remote start from the key fob or phone app. It also has lane assist, pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, LED lighting all around, heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and the like. Nice leather interior with contrasting stitching. The exhaust sound is real, and can be set (the actual exhaust, not a piped-in sound) to Quiet, Normal, Sport, or Track. And that 460 HP V8 sound is to die for. That balance of features fits well with what I like, although wouldn't be what others would necessarily prefer. The rear seat is pretty much worthless but I actually don't mind that. I've mostly had 2-seaters. When more room or AWD are needed, we'll have another car for those things. The trunk is actually bigger than the G70's. Acceleration, handling, and driveability are excellent.

It's not a car that would suit all or even most G70 shoppers, for sure, but I think it may suit me really well. And with an open-ended arrival date for the G70, I feel I might be waiting a long time when meanwhile I could be enjoying a new car. Those factors are all stacking up against waiting for the G70. Not a done deal yet but that's my strong inclination at this point.

You could always get the Mustang now and then go for a G70 next time around. Sounds like you're going to get a great deal on it, and you're right, it's definitely open ended as to when it may be available in your area.

If you're going for a lease, devellis, maybe go for the mustang now and get the G70 coupe later when it comes out. That probably fits your needs more too if you only need 2 seats.

I'm a Chevy guy deep down, but yeah, there's no doubt that the newest Coyote 5.0 is an absolute beast of an engine, especially with the 10 speed auto (kills me to say that as a manual lover). I'm sure the 3.3T is wonderful, but I'll take a 7400rpm NA V8 over a twin turbo V6 any day.

Actually you are wrong. There is negotiations to be had. They can honor competitor's coupons...price matching...last item...perhaps a tiny scratch, etc, etc. Some shops take your old mower, etc, etc. Not going to get into that...we are talking the G70 here.

I know how dealers work. Again...you are putting purchasing a vehicle on a high pedestal...in favor of the dealer.
Everything is negotiable, you just have to ask. Yes I negotiate at Home Depot, Best Buy, etc. That's the beauty of the American economy. Only suckers want a fixed pricing model for cars like Tesla. Just because you don't know how to negotiate doesn't mean you have to ruin it for the rest of us (not the OP, just in general).

That said, no harm in sharing the deal. 90% even if the dealer gets called out, they wouldn't honor the deal again so they're protected.

I too gave up on the G70 recently. I’m a half hour from a dealership that currently has 17 of them and has had 17 for a couple weeks now. I test drove one and tried to make a deal. The best they would do was $500 off MSRP. I declined and decided to wait til spring for prices to become more competitive and the non-existent hype that the dealer imagines there is to die down. It was a nice car but it didn’t give me the “must have” feeling to make an impulse buy.

Then I got back to what got me in the new car spirit to begin with. The Corvette Stingray. After about a week or so of scouring every new 2017/2018 available within 500 miles I finally landed a deal for 17K under MSRP on the perfect color and optioned car for me. I’m flying out in the morning and driving it 7 hours back home.

Earlier in the year I had a bad experience with a lying salesman locally who baited me in and soured me on a Vette. Recently I decided to give it another shot and landed a deal after a lot of emails and calls. I even had a spreadsheet detailing everyone I contacted and their best prices. You just have to get a few good offers in writing and send them to other dealers to beat, rinse and repeat.

I wish you all the best of luck on your G70 purchases. In my personal opinion right now is not the time to buy one. Wait til spring when more dealers have them and prices are more competitive. Also the NA Intl Auto Show is coming soon. It will give you time to see what 2020 has to offer.

For those waiting for the 2020 model, when do you think you will see it?
My guess is October or November of next year before it goes on sale. Only first year and mid cycle refresh models are released earlier!
Personally waiting to get a deal on a 2019 at the end of the model year is a waste of time not to mention that it also makes me feel my car is old as soon as the new model year is out and the resale value takes a hit too in the end of the day.
In the end of the day I look at it this way, is my time worth waiting 6 months to get a better deal?
The deal may be better but my trade-in is also depreciating so is it really worth it?
The VW and Audi dealerships were pretty much begging to get rid of their A4 and Golf R. While the deal was really good, I didn't want to buy a 2018 at the end of 2018.

It's a great way to purchase if you're planning to keep the car for an extended period. You get the big discount up front and won't have to worry too much about the one year older model lower value on the back end.

We have a new state, welcome Minnesota to the list. We also had a few new dealers since the last update as well as losing SC. The 2019s are now available in 12 states at 30 dealers. NJ has caught up with GA for having the most dealers, 6, and Alabama is one behind with five

I will crosspost in the similar thread.

I got off the phone with Jared Shaw at Rosen (Algonquin, IL). He said ~2 weeks until they receive shipment. Apparently, the cars are sitting in Chicago awaiting final inspection and/or emissions testing. He has three 2.0Ts and six 3.3T Sports arriving - he ordered the ones he thought would be most desirable, ie 3.3T Sport versions.

Here's the follow-up email:
Thanks for reaching out regarding the Genesis G70 3.3 Twin Turbo All Wheel Drive with Sport Package. I currently have one that is showing hitting first of all G70 models in the Casablanca White with Black interior. It isn't showing me interior stitching color so that will be either white or red stitching. I will keep you in the loop as I have reached out to my regional rep to get an update on shipping as they are showing in transport currently. Thanks for the opportunity and I will talk to you soon!

Thank you, Dpaulc. It looks like they are slowly wending their way across the country. Dare I say: "Slowly, but surely".

If they have a VIN...you can view the Window Sticker and it clearly states interior color. If they don't want to share that...they can look themselves.

On the Sport...it shows either "Black w/ Gray" or "Black w/ Red" under Interior/Seat Color box.

Looks like Houma, LA has a couple cars now, as well.
