  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

12.5 Map Update

I attempted to do so and was redirected to a page that stated 'out of stock' please see your dealer.

Glad they updated the map website; the old site refused to enter my VIN, but the new site did in a jiffy (I purchased the car July 2). Unfortunately I also get the "out of stock" message for my G80 5.0 update. Will try again over the next few days...

This will be my first update. Can anyone tell me if the update can be done while driving the car?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Yes, it can. You just lose some screen function while it is going on, but you can put a lot of miles on.

Got shipment notification for 2 day FedEx for mine. Sorry it's out of stock for others... Will update once I get it installed.

Mine is on the way!

They're back to the "Currently not available. New Update Coming Soon" , message as of today, Nov. 22. Prior to this message, just a few day ago, they announced v12.5 was now available. What is going on here? If you call Genesis, I sense no one there really has a handle on map updates and the Mapnsoft process. The current party line is that we are entitled to one update per year...on or after the car's "date of first use" or purchase date. I don't know if dealers are restricted in this way. Can they order the update as a normal parts order regardless of what the Mapnsoft website says about availability.
Note to BillN...if you bought your car on July2, 2018, Genesis might tell you you can't get the first update until July 2 2019

When I called they said I can't get the first update until 1 year after the purchase date and that is why I am getting the "Currently not available. New Update Coming Soon" error,. If I choose to purchase the update I can, but have to do so at the dealer, not via online.

Genesis Customer Care told me that too early when I called them to ask why I couldn't enter my VIN on the mapnsoft site. Now with the new map site I was able to enter the VIN and the "Order" button isn't grayed-out so I thought perhaps I could. The version that was in my car is from 2017 when the car was built (2018 MY) and quite a few of the expressway speed limits have changed around here.

pmcjr, are you getting the "Currently not available. New Update Coming Soon" because it's less than a year like Mr. Incredible, or is it worth checking back occasionally to see if anything changes?

Bought my car in October. Got an update in March. Website says a new version (12.5) is available.
I did not order it yet because I'm moving in the next week or two and don't want it in transit if I move before it ships and is delivered.

So perhaps you will have to wait until next March (under the 1 per year policy)? Let us know when you get moved...

BillN...I bought my car Dec. 10, 2016 and got my first update Jan. 2, 2018 thru the dealer. By coincidence this was passed the first year mark, but I don't think Genesis had the current update rules in place then. I thought at the time you could get 3 complementary updates at any time over the 3 year period. It might be due to the newness of the new Mapnsoft site, but earlier this week I wasn't getting the "currently not available" message and today I am. Yes, I think maybe Mapnsoft has corrected the website based on VINs and when the last update was. I'm hoping and assuming that this will change to available after Dec. 10, my anniversary date. We'll see. But as I said, I have no confidence in how Genesis is administering these updates and plan on getting my second update via the dealer once again. I'm thinking they can order the update part outside the Mapnsoft owner's channel so to speak.

This is my 3rd in one year. Keeping in mind they messed up the 12.0 update. Supposedly it's 2 per year but I believe it has more to do with, if you upgraded to the Platinum Warranty. I recall the financier saying unlimited map upgrades after we purchased the 10/100K Bumper to Bumper Warranty.

It'll be interesting to see which date they go by, the original anniversary date or the date of the last update... Please keep us posted in December :)

FYI: I received and updated my 2017 G80 to version 12 on 6/22/18 and to version 12.5 on 11/20/18. I suspect they temporarily ran out of updates after early applicants like me got there’s.

When did you buy your 2017? How many updates have you had counting these most recent two? Obviously, you weren't restricted to one update per year which Genesis has told me is the new restriction to the three complementary update program.

Only 2 updates, since I bought it on 10/17/16 & it came with version 11.5.
