What things don't you like in the G70?

I think the G70 is not as smooth or as quiet as the reviews indicated, so I am a little disappointed. However I think it’s competitive and considering the power advantage, perhaps quieter tires would make a difference.

But certainly, the stereo at 15 is seriously loud. I run mine at 3-4 most times. 7-8 is plenty loud with very good sub woofer bass and clear highs. At 7, I cannot really hear much noise, perhaps a little road noise and a little wind from the side window (which I would say is not well insulated in general) but only if I listen real closely. This Lexicon stereo is better than the B&O and Bose in my other cars.

Btw, i will be getting my wheel balance checked on Thursday...gotta fix that vibration!

However at the top, where it shows distance to empty and a Fuel Pump icon, the arrow points to the passenger side. Ha ha, you're in good company. Same thing happened to me. I think the arrow that points at distance to empty is trying to indicate visually how much is remaining.

Another thing to add to my OP. The G70 doesn't have compass on the rearview mirror like the other Genesis cars have. How much would it cost to add it? I find this compass very useful without having to turn the Nav on the main screen.

Question. In prior cars...the radio volume would go way down when the navigation voice kicks in. Not here. If radio is up...you can’t hear the navigation unless that is turned up.

Am I missing a setting somewhere? Driving me bonkers.

Also...my Audi would decrease audio when in reverse as well...allowing you to concentrate a bit more and to hear the parking sensors...also annoying.

Yeah there is a volume priority setting I believe. I've only used mine once but I'll check later.

The audio definitely decreases while in reverse.

Lol, I just noticed that yesterday. Pretty dumb to add a misleading arrow icon right next to an icon that looks like a fuel pump. Not only misleading but also adds visual complexity to the display.

This is a similar stupidity as programming the radio station rocker switch on the steering wheel to scroll through an ascending list on one radio screen and a descending list on another radio screen. Dumb.

My audio also lowers when in reverse and also lowers when navigation updates are spoken. My audio and nav is coming from my iPhone connected through Apple CarPlay so not sure if it's different if connected to the native Genesis system.

I finally saw the G70 at the LA Autoshow today, and unfortunately, all the reviewers are right, the back seat is way too small. I am 5'10 and I had less than half an inch between my knees and front seat, and for a guy that wears a size 12, I could not fit my sneakers under the front seat, my wife also hated the small trunk. Nice car, aside from that and the outdated multimedia. We went to look at the Volvo S60, and that car is just a much better option for me, and interior quality is a bit better as well.
I completely forgot to take a picture of the G70, they had probably around 5-6 there, all loaded, including a 2.0 6MT

So, I have a 7 month old and I drive her to daycare everyday....I was able to get her rear facing car-seat back there (although had to push up the passengers side seat a little bit to get the actual carrier to fit without hitting the seat). I mean it's tight back there and not as big as my Sonata was, but I barely have people in the backseat. Occasionally if the wife, baby, and I all go out and I drive she sits in the backseat with her but she's tiny and doesn't need much room. Food for thought

I sound like a broken record, but be sure to adjust the location of the front seat before assessing space in the backseat. What's interesting about the G70 is that the front seats are capable of moving MUCH farther back than many cars. But the backseat space wasn't designed to fit to the farthest back setting. If you don't adjust the front seats when testing backseat space, especially at an auto show, you'll be setting yourself up for failure.

Hybrid powertrain as in the T8 plug-in or the fact that on the T6 you get a turbo AND a supercharger? I will be getting the T5, so that would not matter to me, but I've heard good things about the T6. I also have a 4 month old daughter that needs a good space in the back for her, and just like you, I will have adults in the back on a occasion. My wife also liked the S60 interior a lot more, it's more luxurious.

I had the drivers side and passenger seat adjusted for me and my wife, I am 5'10, she is probably about the same, and it was still too tight. The car is just not really meant for more than 2 adults unfortunately

That's really good info, I appreciate it!! I'm one of the few who still hasn't seen the car in person, as my state has no cars or official Genesis dealers at this time, so every bit of info helps. Right now we have a 2 year old but are planning on having a 2nd baby this upcoming year, so I'll need a bit of room.

I've always loved Volvo's, but I don't think I will be getting one for me. My wife, on the other hand, has been eyeing the XC40 - which we are both pretty pumped about.

Me and my wife drove the XC40, if you haven't driven it yet, you will notice one bad thing - it's pretty loud inside, not sure if its the kind of tires or just bad insulation, but it was one of the loudest brand new cars i've driven. Aside from that we loved it, we drove a T5 R design with red seats. Will end up purchasing a 2019 CX5 instead of it, it's gonna be a lot cheaper for us, and we are looking for a great lease number.
For the S60 though, I like performance cars, I drive a 2018 Camaro 1LE right now and it's a track monster, I would also be looking at a tune eventually for the T5, being only a turbo, it should be easier, but I'm not looking to achieve anything crazy as far as power, just want a little bit more kick to it, that's all. You would love the S60 in person, it's amazing, I was very glad that I saw the R Design in the pearl white which is the color I would be looking for.
I was really hoping the Genesis would be bigger in the back, that is pretty much the only thing that is having me moving away from it.
