I found a new spy photo of what must be the US bound Equus out testing with the facelifted Genesis. The Genesis style grille would bring the two models (Genesis,Equus) closer together for a more cohesive brand identity - maybe for a Genesis brand launch?
I love both the vertical and horizontal grilles. The second photo is probably what the US Equus will look like.
Actually, I kind of like the Genesis style grille more.

PHOTO 1: from Edmunds - The Equus in this photo is kind of blurry but you can definitely see the Genesis style grille

CORRECTION -- PHOTO 2: The US Equus might look similar to this photo. It's the production KDM V6 Equus.

IS that the camera affixed to the vertical bar in the grill?

That has to move before launch......

^^ I'm pretty sure that's the grille for the V6 Equus, which comes w/ a diff. grille than the V8 Equus.

That horizontal-slatted grille is very similar to what is on the KDM Genesis (and I agree that the klingon/waterfall grille is better; it not only is more interesting, it gives a more aggressive look).

They should be able to integrate that camera into the center vertical bar or somewhere behind the grille. I don't see the camera on the grille on the top spy photo.

It is integrated on the Genesis in other markets, so it shouldn't be hard to do. For a mule testing out the gear I understand why it looks like that though.

Is the bottom photo a mule? It is obviously taken in Korea, whereas the upper photo looks like it may be from the Hyundai test facility in CA.

I just found the second photo in another GenesisOwners post that confirms it isn't a spy photo/test vehicle. It's a KDM production model.
YEH is correct. The second photo is the production V6 Equus in Korea.
I will post a correction in my initial post.

I won't buy an Equus with a horizontal grille. Just sayin'. :p The V8 will come with a vertical grille.

I dislike the camera placement on the KDM Equus grille. Since everything is chrome except for the camera, it draws the eye to the camera "wart."

However, it's not nearly as bad as the ME Genesis' camera. Talk about screwing up the grille!

Weird, I actually like it in that picture...

I like the placement of the camera on the middle eastern Genesis grill much better than that big wart sticking out of the Equus grill in this picture. Instead of being smoothly integrated like the Genesis nose camera it seems to be slapped on their as an afterthought and just seems out of place

The wart on the Equus is bad, yes. Looks too much like an afterthought.

I find the ME Genesis grille to be too interrupted compared to the smooth, elegant lines of horizontal ribs, and very strange to interrupt the center rib several times. It's too bad they couldn't have worked out a wide-angle lens that could have been incorporated in an uninterrupted center rib.

Hmmm, so slightly different grilles for different markets. I wonder which grille will come to the US Equus? I like both the V6 and V8 KDM Equus grilles although I have only seen the V8 KDM vertical grille in person when it was on display at my local dealer.
I guess the Equus might also have a completely new grille for the US market. Maybe.
Hopefully they'll find a better way to integrate the front camera in the US market models.
