  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis GV80 Spied Wearing its Final Body - Korean Car Blog

While a bit difficult to tell w/ all the cladding, it looks promising (can still mess up on the details); not sure if I like that greenhouse sloping as much as it does.

Whatever the case may be, will look a lot better and more premium than something like the RX.

I don't care for the RX either up close, but, most SUVs and black and at 25 yards they all look like a black box from three sides. The grill is different. I hope Genesis does better.

It's getting closer (to launch).

From the looks of it (while not a GLS or X7 competitor), should be able to fit a decent sized 3rd row.

Definitely more than the RX-L, if not the new X5.

Also think the new design language (massive grille) will work better up front due to the more upright CUV front fascia.

If this is going to fit a 3rd row of seat, why is the greenhouse sloping so much, can't really judge yet, but if it does slop like we think, it will not look too good on such big suv

^ The roofline doesn't slope as much as the top pat of the greenhouse.

While not a GLS/X7 competitor, this looks large enough to house a decent sized 3rd row (maybe something along the lines of the Sorento - where smaller adults and children are fine).

The biggest competitor to the GV80 may end up being the Lincoln Aviator (similar size and likely similar price).

The Aviator is a powerhouse: 2020 Lincoln Aviator crossover is a hot rod with 400 horsepower standard

^ Wouldn't surprised if the GV80 gets around 400 HP w/ the new 3.5T.

Then the current 5.0L V8 will be at an embarrassing position: it may has slightly higher hp, but significantly less torque than the new 3.5T.

^ Who knows if Genesis will keep the 5.0 Tau w/ the addition of the 3.5T, but maybe they will just for those who want a V8 and/or have a disliking for FI.

Anyhow, here's a pic of the GV80 alongside the Palisade.

genesis-gv80-spied-alongside-hyundai-palisade.jpg

The inside of the Palisade is pretty nice (simply embarrasses the likes of the Pilot and Highlander) and some sources is saying that the top trim for the KDM gets open-pore wood trim (not confirmed if its real or fake, but if it's fake, Hyundai did a real good job).

Aside from RWD, the GV80 really needs to distinguish itself from the Palisade when it comes to interior appointment.

The larger/widescreen display on the Palisade already makes the tablet screen on the G70 look puny and outdated.

Both the G80 and GV80 will be the first to get the 3.5tt V6 with 400 HP. Also it looks like the 5.0L will be discontinued for these models.

The GV80 was Spied in Korea recently. In one of the images you can see a little bit of the interior. From the looks of it, it might get a big tablet like touchscreen display. Also seems like digital dashboard will be included. Also it was spotted testing in the snow. Genesis GV80 Luxury SUV Spied Testing For The First Time

That looks like a toggle switch to select Drive/Park/Neutral?

The one the guy is holding with his hands does look like an electronic switch gear. It would be interesting to see it that far back.

Also just like to point out that all of the parts that are visible in these images look like they are Genesis parts and and not Hyundai Parts. It’s honestly amazing to see this. Can’t wait for the production model.

I agree. It is pretty far back.

From the looks of it, seems like the GV80 has a widescreen (somewhat integrated) tablet screen; somewhat similar to the Palisade, but not as integrated w/ the cluster and set further back.

Palisade for comparison.

I think the genesis one is a little farther back then the Palisade. That’s why i think they are incorporating some type of system like BMW offers that lets you control the screen from a wheel.
