  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have an airbag light on, and it won't go off. I've checked all plugs, and disconnected the battery. I had some stereo work done and then reverted it back to stock as the deal i had worked out fell through. IF an airbag light is tripped is it a dealer only reset?

Re: HELP!!! With airbag light!!!

In my Azera, I had an airbag light as a result of a loose connector. I think that it was under the fronr right seat. The tech reseated the connector and I had no recurrence.

please be very careful not to accidentally set off your airbags, you will know what wires they are as they will surely have yellow connecters, and/or yellow conduit.

if you did your own stereo install, i would double check your wires to make positive that you did not tap into any SRS wires.

i have had airbags blow up in my face before, they suck, and im sure you dont want to pay for new ones ($$$)

your air bag system usually takes 30min-hour to completely loose its DTC prom memory once you have figured out your problem you may have to disconnect your - batt cable and i have even had to go as far as pull the SRS unit for 30min to clear the codes (on merc. benz)

keep in mind, if the problem stays, the light dose not go away.

if you gonna take it somewhere to be read, avoid the dealer, you dont want to go there unless you need to.

they hate people who void warranty and lie about it, you just have to be good at lying.
