If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Early Owner Feedback

The car is fantastic!!! I bought the 2.0T dynamic model in the us. Has every feature (cameras, headsup display, etc). I can tell you that the 2.0T is 200 lbs. lighter than the 3.3T and accelerates faster than my 3.6 G80. You don't need the 3.3T engine. Also, in the US, getting 27 mpg!!!

Every feature except LED rear turn signals!!! Incandescent seriously??? on a $50k car in 2019

Shouldn’t be ‘fixable’ on a new 2019 G70. You want to start fixing things on your new G70? I take it you haven’t followed the G70 rear turn signal LED bulb thread?

I do. I love working on cars.

Even so, I agree. Genesis should have started with LED all around. But still, easy peezy fix.

Looks to me that you didn't take the time to read this forum well. There is a lot of info here.
First of all read this thread where I'm the OP complaining about the rear turn lights.
Then read this thread where I posted MY FIX that is working flawlessly for the last month.

Over 100 posts on an an easy peezy fix? and some users going back to incandescent.
Anyway glad you ‘fixed’ you new G70.
Just so darn odd that it comes with incandescent rear turn signals. Always bothered me, as you can tell, lol.
Fyi I test drove a 3.3T in the evening and lack of interior lighting was disturbing. Do you have to fix that too? Don’t being sarcastic.
Sticking with my 15 gen sedan for now. IMHO more comfortable and yes, I feel my lighting exterior and interior is so much better. My wife’s 2016 Audi A4 has better lighting too inside and out.
Maybe the 20 g70 will have the digital dash and more appropriate lighting for a 50k plus (3.3T)car.
Hope your LED’s last more than a month.

^ what is this “interior lighting” you and others are speaking of? Dash lights, instrument cluster lights,
overhead ‘mood’ light, or what? I know some cars have footwell accessory lighting, but that is silly anyways and it is certainly not missed on the G70.

I actually appreciate the soft overhead LED light that creates subtle illumination on the console and dash at night. All the lighting i need. I’ve no idea what these missing lights are all about.

I agree, this seems like a non issue..

I had a 16 gen sedan before getting my G70 and the only interior lights the 16 had that the G70 does not are the footwell lights and as said before I don't miss them. The G70 has the same overhead LED as your 15 Hyundai Genesis.
My LED turn lights are holding strong. I've left them flashing for more than 5 min several times and never got a code or hyper flash, my only concern is they are too bright, I would say 200% brighter than stocks but color match and look is amazing.

Well, it's a good thing we didn't buy our cars for the lighting.

The G70 does have footwell lights, they just disengage when the car is in gear.

You mean you don't like distracting lights from below your sightline? Weird. :-D

I just noticed this last night after going for a drive. The footwell lights are nice, not distracting in any way. I also noticed the small instrument panel lights at the top by the sunroof controls that stay always on and light up the drive mode selector panel. It all feels extremely luxurious to me, but I've never owned any real luxury car before.

Anyway, I do have a gripe with the car - I wish the flappy paddles we're bigger, and I wish they were mounted on the steering column instead of the wheel. Lastly, I'm still getting used to have an automatic. I've only owned manuals my whole life. It's hard to let go... 😢

You generally wouldn't want column mounted paddles, how would you change gears while turning? :-p

They could stand to be slightly larger though they are bigger than the stock ones on my DSG GTI.

And aftermarket delivers ... see here for larger paddles! I'm like you coming out of a manual ... but I have to say, commutes in traffic are much less stressful! And I do find myself using the G70's paddle shifter when I'm driving aggressively - I find that in sport mode they're actually pretty good!

Oh but it's actually even easier! Especially when turning relatively tight turns - one hand on the wheel while the other moves to the side to blip the paddle. With wheel mounted paddles you have to take a second to think about where the upshift and downshift paddles are...or at least I do, because evidently I suck at using them. Haha.

Outstanding! Ordered. Haha.

I only test drove the G70 twice for 10 to 15 min. Now that I own and have spent some time in the car the G70 far exceeds my expectations. If I had to find a complaint it would be comfort mode could be a little softer, and the exhaust could be a little louder or change with drive mode.

As of right now my only complaint is the auto downshifting when flooring it. Even with all the nannies disabled it does this and I don't like it. Damn you, Genesis!

Everything else I am getting used and I love it.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong. You do NOT want it to downshift when you floor it? Usually it does that to maintain the optimal RPM and acceleration. Or is it not shifting to the gear of your choice?
