I know you didn't ask me, but I'll chime in w/ my $0.02 since I have significant seat time behind the wheel of a new CTS.
-Rear visibility is horrible (even compared to the less-than-stellar rearward visibility in the Genesis)
-Seats are too narrow
-Ingress/Egress to the rear seat is quite poor
-Poorer fuel economy compared to the Genesis
-Pricier when similarly equipped (compared to the Genesis V6)
-Heavier w/ less useable interior room and no greater accelerative peformance (according to MotorTrend)
With that said, if you're looking for a midsize luxury sedan the CTS is a very solid choice. It rides well, is quiet, and has a very nice interior.
Hmmm, that's a tough call. I think the CTS has a slight edge in driving dynamics (it's still no BMW), but the Genesis has a slight edge in refinement.
No, no way could I possibly be hinting that the Genesis ends up being the 2009 Car of the Year. You heard it here first!!!
My experience with the CTS4 is limited to the Hyundai VIP Test Drive Event. The model they had there had a sticker price of almost $54,000. On this particular test track the CTS was simply not in the same league. It is both physically and visually much smaller both inside and out. The Genesis clearly outperformed the CTS in terms of traction control, chasis rigidity, electonic stability, acceleration, handling, braking and overall ride and comfort. While the CTS interior is arguably "world class" with the clever pop up navi, etc it simply pales in comparison to the clean, crisp interior look of the Genesis. I suggest you do back to back test drives and I think you will really appreciate what Hyundai has done with the Genesis as in my opinion it kicked the 2008 Motor Trend Car of the Year in the butt. Hahahah! As emotional as my post may have seemed, I was not feeling emotional about it. After all, it's just a car.. I just wanted to make my statement very clear.^^^ Somebody is not happy
I hear ya.. If the dealership boosts the price and people still buy it - then why not? It's the customer's own fault for getting ripped off..^ i know ive said this before... go to your local caddy dealer and see how many cts4's they have price 52k and some change... Youd be suprised.
