Hi all. My last car (2016 BMW 340i) had an unfortunate encounter with a curb and 50' flagpole due to the combination of wildlife and slick roads, and is probably going to be totaled. I've been thinking about getting something a bit bigger and that leans more toward luxury than sport, and I love the look of the Genesis/G80.
So I've been digging around a lot, and I think a 5.0 is the way to go. I'd consider the newer G80 Sport, but I'd like to keep it under $30k if I can and that pretty much rules those out since they've only been out a year.
Here's what I'm unclear on with the 2015-2016 Genesis 5.0 models:
Thanks for any help/advice!

Here's what I'm unclear on with the 2015-2016 Genesis 5.0 models:
- Do the 2015-2016 models only have the amber DRLs in the main headlight modules? When did they switch to the thin wrap-around LED strip for DRLs like on the current (2019) G80 models? I really don't like the amber DRLs.
- Do all 5.0s have the upgraded Napa leather, or only the Ultimate?
- I would really like Apple Carplay, but I've learned in my searching that the Ultimate (with the larger 9" screen) cannot be upgraded to Carplay. If I'm going to give up the other things in the Ultimate package, is the performance of Carplay on 2015-era hardware at least decent?
- Speaking of the Ultimate package, I have questions...what does it add? From what I can tell, on the 5.0 the only things it adds are the bigger infotainment screen (is the system any different or just a bigger screen?), a heads-up display (meh), a Lexicon audio system (don't care much...I mostly listen to audiobooks), power trunk (don't care), and....
- An adaptive damping suspension system. Is this any good? How does it compare to the "standard" suspension on the 5.0? Does it have any reliability issues? I've read it's $500/corner if it breaks.
- Finally, are there any important upgrades when they cut over to the Genesis brand in 2017 that might be worth stretching the budget for?
Thanks for any help/advice!
