  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Aftermarket Exhaust options!

ordered the kunstwerk exhaust today (y), did yours come in ?
Yes, no secondary cat delete.🤔 Installed last night. Nice quality and excellent fitment. Just have to connect wires. Tested real quick plugged into 12v port. Initial impressions it was late.
Close- about as quiet as stock with maybe a little more rumble at idle. Open sounds good (probably leave it open all the time lol) wouldn't mind really loud in open mode but it was late only ran 5 min in garage. Also has a auto mode did not get a chance to try supposed to open half I think. Unsure where to hardwire looks different then I assume stinger photo.

Better impressions and video later.
But email customer service, quality, fitment, shipping time verified awsome! Except for telling me it comes with cat delete (the response was meant oe resonator delete). I asked if they make a set and cost.

So, does it just bolt up to the mid-pipes? Or does it replace the mid-pipes, yet still include secondary cats?

Bolts to cats replaces the mid section with resonators

Stock exhaust cold start in garage

Kunstwerk exhaust valve closed cold start in garage

Kunstwerk exhaust valve open in garage

Sounds better in person!
I like but still may buy downpipes.
I will try to get a few videos of out of garage, from in car, and drive bye.

Sound quality does not do it justice!
Driving open valve.

Driving closed valve (sorry about the radio)

Drive away (a little windy)

Drive bye

Launch

Another comparison

Stock

Kunstwerk valve open

Sounds good for sure, almost seems kind of loud though, even with the valve closed in your driving video. Have you had a chance to drive at highway speeds yet? I'm just wondering if there is any drone to this exhaust.

Ok, I will not say no drone at all. When valve is closed it's not like stock. It has a louder lower tone. That video is @ about 55-65 mph and very slight drone sound , exhaust noise whatever want to call it. You can here it in a perfectly quiet car. That was the purpose of the video to show the slight noise. It is very minimal, under load you will hear it but @ highway speeds.
I purchased aftermarket exhaust for more sound. I personally like it, I was a little disappointed that the valve closed was not quiet as factory in Hope's that this would be the one with no drone. I am satisfied with it and like the added sound on closed mode. In fact I wouldnt mind open being a little louder, but it does sound nice.
I would not want to drive for an hour or more in open mode all the time , that is why I purchased evc. If this was a valve open non evc I would be selling, but closed mode is just about right and IMO the way the car should have came from factory, ofcourse they were going for quiet luxury exhaust note.

How much for the exhaust with downpipe

Sounds great!

But damn, I'm just getting used to a quite car with no drone. Decisions decision. Expensive decisions.

I could not get used to the quiet. For me the closed option is perfect amount of "noise" and the open is good but as I said I wouldn't mind louder. My only complaint with the car was that it was too quiet and the fake sound only kicked in at higher rpm. I like the deep low "drone" or as I call it exhaust sound at low RPM when open. And just a little rumble when closed.
Whatever you choose it's still a great car!

I share exactly your dilemma. After 20 years of noisy droning exhaust systems the quiet interior in the G70 is a real breath of fresh air. I suspect I'll likely just go with a piggyback tuner and plugs for added performance, and perhaps intakes for a little added sound.

I think I'm in the exact same boat, haha. But I will want more power than what the piggyback provides. But maybe it will tide me over until we're able to upgrade the turbos.
