  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just saw the 2010

Re: Test draw the 4.6 2010 today

Thanks for the report and pics!
So they've also kept the Dunlops. It's also interesting to see how they accommodated the adaptive CC...for some reason, the way it was described, I thought they changed the chrome grill, not the lower one.

No, it's hidden below the grill.

Re: Test draw the 4.6 2010 today

Exterior Changes:
The lower grille is now split in three quadrants... the center is open like before, the left side and right side have glossy black panels... the cruise device is under the left one... the right one is there for symmetry.

No, it's hidden below the grill.

Is that what you mean by "hidden below the grill" or are you saying that it's under the main, chrome grill?

Suspension feels stable, electronic brake hold works well, didn't try the adaptive cruise control, didn't notice any engine lag after the rolling stop

Hey Joe thanks for the PICS, makes me glad I have a 09, "Hate the lower grill: change.

I agree with you Gripper. The lower grill really does not look good!!!

That was a forced upgrade to accommodate the Adaptive Cruise Control radar unit

It's under the chrome grill.

No, the camera for the Cruise is under the passenger side black plastic window in the lower grille. The driver's side black window is there for symmetry. I actually like the new lower grille... it carries the hood/grille lines right down into the bumper. When a front plate is on, it will actually look well integrated.

Thanks for the photos! I am looking forward to the 2010s making there way to the midwest!

Agreed.

Yes, the G8 GT is an unbelievable car... just phenomenal. Too bad it doesn't have navigation but honestly, I'm hoping when I'm in the market in 6 months there will be a few left out there. Tied with the Genesis for me... seems a little smaller.

The G8 GT is a real sports sedan - almost as good as the 5 Series.

However, not exactly a luxury sedan either in the interior or the exterior.

I thought they changed the chrome grill, not the lower one.

Reportedly, the change in the chrome grill was for the mid-cycle 2011 refresh.

I agree - the lower grille was too disjointed in the 2009; however, I would have like to have seen the lines running down tapered a bit less.

Just drove the 2010... 4.6 w/tech. They killed the porpoise. (Was that insensitive to our underwater allies?)

Seriously.. and I have to say (as a former BMW owner) the handling is sportier. Somehow, they made it corner flatter while maintaining a comfortable ride. Well done! Amazing what you can do with just some adjustments. (On the same rubber no less).

Thanks for the feedback.

Did you happen to notice that the Tech Package Nav system is not a touch screen? Also, did you notice any difference in the steering wheel?

The nav system was not touch screen.. same dialer. I didn't notice a difference in the steering wheel size from the 2009 right next to it. I didn't notice a difference in steering wheel size. I can measure the two tomorrow and report back.

There is a 2010 V8 Tech with Blue / Cashmere at the Renton, WA Lithia dealership. Very nice. I will be driving it this weekend. If Im convinced the 2010 suspension has been fixed I will be talking trade in. Maybe not that one since I really dont like the blue. I hope they get this one right.

The lower grill looks horrible! I know this change was necessary for the a adaptive cruse control but the designers could have done a much better job than this!

Saw one at the dealership and was poking around the interior. What is the area under the CD player and above the ashtray? The right side looks like small inconvenient storage, but the left side seems to have some thing in there. Anyone know what that's for?

Put you handheld key fob in there. :)

Please tell us what you think of the ride, hopefully you can test out some identical streets.

While you are ther ask the parts department guy if the part numbers for the 09 and 10 sedan suspension springs / struts . dampers are different. REALLY REALLY love to know what he says. The HSM does not show anything different yet BUT they don't list part numbers, just generic BS.

Are there many more changes in 2010 over 2009 to justify extra cost. And does anyone know if there will be extra discounts for 2009's.
