  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

In Colorado these dealerships wont get excited until they have some SUV's and a crossover to sell. I'm pretty sure CO has some of the lowest sedan sales in the nation though I cant recall where I read that.

I've talked to several out of state dealers, Murray, and Lindon in UT, Someone in Missouri... but my since I'm not confident in Arapahoe to provide the experience that I'm buying into, I haven't been able to commit to that. I know that the value is still there in the g70 but I'm not looking at spending any more on an Audi (S3) or a Benz (AMG A35 when released), just at getting a smaller car, which I actually prefer. So the only real sacrifice there is the 3 years paid maintenance and that's not enough to convince me to drive to Utah to buy a car and have to deal w/ Arapahoe before they have a dedicated Genesis dealership and service center set up.

I think its a different story when dedicated dealers and service is set up but for now operating out of a Hyundai dealership does appear to be impacting the brand promises.

Im hoping things will change in the next 6-9 months. I am hoping Mcdonald ends up getting a license, i have heard much better things about them vs Arapahoe. I am hoping that by the time a oil change is needed, a second dealer has popped up. Also, if it is only Arapahoe and they are problematic, i would have no problem going to genesis corporate to tell them they suck.

I would not mind a drive through the Rockies right now so if Utah ends up cutting me a decent deal, ill just hope a cheap flight to SLC and pick it up.

When I originally talked to McDonald's said they were going to get a franchise but then something changed and it seems they are not going to pursue one. Maybe that will change as the model lineup grows.

It'll be a shame for Genesis to not have a competing dealership in Denver. It will be easy to best the experience at Arapahoe.

Maybe Schomp will end up getting one. I have a hard time believing that Genesis will want only Arapahoe running the show in Denver..

At one time Schomp showed interest in getting one but that evidently waned also.

Man, you are hooked into the dealership cartel in Denver. Lets just hope someone steps up. Arapahoe has no way to build a stand alone dealership so we may just be stuck with their 1990's dealership for the time being.

Maybe Denver demographics cannot support more than one dealer. The brand is barely established and does not have an SUV yet.

I talked with the GM since I used to work for him at Schomp BMW. He said they decided not to due to their location in Aurora. Wasn't an ideal location for a premium brand. If they ever decide to get into the game they will do it to become the #1 dealer, by rating and sales. A really great organization. I would imagine that they will continue to look at it, especially if the SUVs come online and do well.

Lame. Doesn't Schomp have dealerships all over the metro area, why would the Genesis dealership necessarily need to be on Havana by their Hyundai dealership?

There are plenty of dealers on that "motor mile" stretch, maybe not luxury dealers but its obviously an area that people go to to buy cars, I've bought 5 Subarus at their (formerly Shortline) shop over there.

I suspect more will figure it out when they have some SUVs to sell. You could build a fence out of G70s around the Santa Fes and Tucsons and people would crash through them just to get off the lot in an SUV.

Does anyone know if Genesis of Pleasant Hills in the suburbs of Pittsburgh PA is going to be a Genesis dealership? I responded to a Genesis email today and they listed it as my closest dealership but the webpage doesn't see any inventory.

Thanks, this dealer is 25 miles closer to me than the other.

Went to one of my local Hyundai/Genesis dealer. Jenkins Hyundai Genesis in Leesburg Florida. NOT a stand alone dealer. I walked around and did not see any Genedis’. Asked one sales person where are they parked. Pointed to one area. No, they are not there. Asked another guy who pointed way in the back. No, not there either. Asked s third guy who pointed to a different location. I just said the heck with it and drove away.

BTW, none of the dealers that I’ve checked with in the greater Orlando area are stand alone dealers. I get my Sonatas serviced at Orlando Hyundai and I buy from Coastal Hyundai in Melbourne. They plus the other Four or five plus Hyundai/Genesis dealers in the area are NOT stand alone dealers.

Doubt there will be any stand alone in Florida for at least a year. They are one of the last states to sign up because of the lawsuits. The volume won't justify the investment until the SUVs are available.

I would guess that right now, each Hyundai dealership has rights to a Genesis dealership in their surrounding area for a certain period of time. Once that time ends, we may see them allowed to open in areas that were turned down.
