  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can You Identify These Wheels?

Just drove home with my 2009 V6 with Premium Package. Since I bought this over the phone, I was pleasantly surprised to see it did not have the stock rims. But I have no idea what they are. Any one recognize them? (Hope my posted pic actually shows up). These are 17-inch wheels, and based on comments I have heard on the suspension/ride, I suspect these will give me a better ride than the low profile 18 inch rims. A bit softer ride than my older Acura TL-S, for sure, but WOW, how quiet this car is and how smooth the transmission is going up hills and windy roads, much smoother than my TL.

They appear to be the wheels that the base model Genesis has without any packages. I could be wrong, but I have seen a Genesis around my area a couple of times now that is Silver with those same wheels (V6).

That would be pretty wild if its true. I don't find them in the Genesis catalog or anywhere on the Hyundai website, but you may be right. I actually like them better than the more common V6 wheel. ( You guys just really wanted me to run back outside and see if I really had the sunroof, the back shade, and the Lexicon 14 spkr system, didn't you?) But seriously, wheels are a personal choice, but I like these better. I am surprised they hide them in all their publicity shots.

Those are the base wheels. The 17"s have bigger sidewalls so they will give a slightly "cushier" ride than the 18"s.

Since pretty much every 3.8 Genesis comes with the PP package, they are pretty rare wheels.

I had my 18inch wheels taken off and these 17 inchers put on in "chrome". As far as cushier ride goes forget it.

Thanks for clarifying those wheels. I feel pretty stupid, since I have studied this car since the Spring and never saw these wheels on the Hyundai Genesis website, nor in their thick brochure, nor on any of the many Hyundai lots I visited over this summer. I was under the impression the 17 and 18-inch wheels looked the same, with the closed spoke on the V6 vs open spoke on the V8. Nevertheless, I really do like these. My dumb luck? But with the price quite a bit below invoice, I can't complain.
