  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

A local dealer is advertising a 3.3t sport for 47,899, I know circle A would be a little under this. Question is for lease is current lease cash still 3,000? Is that lease cash the loyalty and conquest incentives or separate from those? I don’t qualify for loyalty, military or conquest so how does the lease cash work.... I just subtract if from whatever the negotiated price is? (Whether that’s the circle A price or the above price right?)

In my case the lease cash (plus conquest in my case) was set aside and all the sale items, tax, tag, dealer fee, first month lease payment, filing fee and god knows what else, was deducted from that amount and the remainder became a deduction from the lease cap cost. All company rebates (lease cash, conquest, etc.) are fully taxable at 3% here in North Carolina.
The finance manager combined the conquest and lease cash as they apply equally to the sale and finance or lease amount.
Lease cash is a separate item from the others in that it applies to leasing transactions only. The other incentives are for those who qualify for them regardless of drive off choices. It was explained to me on this site that it appears Genesis is trying to compete with Audi and BMW for the lease market, a major factor for premium sport sedans, thus the emphasis on lease incentives. Plus it gives them a steady contact with lessees and another chance to win more business.

Current lease cash for the RWD is $3000 and for the AWD is $3500

Whatever your negotiated sales price is, you will subtract this amount from that. Keep in mind that, generally, these discounts are taxable.

Awesome thanks. Was using the Leasehackr calculator and going through some scenarios. Ideally the circle A puts the base price of the Sport I was looking at around 46680. Using that in the calculator, with 3k rebates (taxed), 36/12k I’m getting ~$556/month (depends on exact TTL fees/dealer fees of course). This seems consistent with some of the decent deals others have gotten here right?

Not quite to the 1% proportion for a lease that all the lease hackers talk about but I think that’s not gonna happen with the current suboptimal RV. Just saw BMW advertising a 530/month lease on a M340, w/ 3k down though.

It is best to ignore all lease advertising with specific amounts from any manufacture. They are usually on very base models as well as including down payments. Always best to work on a specific deal and then compare.

So far one of the best deals we've seen is 559/mo with 0 down from Ruach on an AWD 3.3T sport.

Scaled to RWD and July numbers it's 506/mo with 0 down.

Best offer I've gotten so far is 515/mo., 0 down. I'll see if I can't get a little more off of that.

(All these figures would be just the first months payment at drive off. 521/mo would be absolutely $0 drive off).

I feel it's a good deal, but I'm pretty much pitting 6 dealers against each other to see how low it can go.

You doing 36month/12k or 10k?

I may try 35/15 so obviously would expect a little higher.

That would be at 12k.

Ruach's deal would be at 15. That's something I always forget.

Going this Saturday to that so we'll see what they can do, and if anyone can beat it.

Well just drove 2 hours to a dealer to check one out. They put a deal together over the phone.

Apparently they took "my word" and plugged in "my numbers" for the money factor (in June, so .00006) and coming there, their Finance Manager and their GM have "never heard of that money factor" (including the .00009 that it currently is).

They told me if I can get someone from corporate on the phone to let them know they'll run the numbers. Conveniently, the only open customer service today is the general line and roadside assistance.

I'm trying to get my hands on the internal docs from some friends to prove them wrong out of spite.

4+ hours of driving and the time spent here wasted.

They were also adamant that circle a was "the deal" and that I also wouldn't get lease cash. Apparently working for them for 25 years doesn't qualify you to actually know anything about the different plans.

This is just gross. I hate giving these shitty dealers my time.

Is there a good thread/post to learn the basics of the lease cash deal? I was looking at a G70 MT to buy (cash, not finance) but then the dealer told me about $4000 lease cash, but I didn't get much info. Is it possible to do the lease to get the deal and then pay off the car after a month or two? Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, wasn't having much luck finding basic info for dummies like me.

I would tell them it’s not your job to find out the correct numbers but it’s their job. If they don’t want to do that you will look someplace else.
However pitting six dealers again one another may not yield the ideal result either

Reading this whole thread will be your education. I took a few minutes and found a good interaction on page 30 of this thread as a synopsis.

I was where you are but your new best friends here changed my mind, really it was the numbers that were inarguable. Lease can be a real money saver. Congratulations on your salesman for trying to help you save money. Please treat him/her well.

It's definitely not my job.

Unfortunately the deal we negotiated was pretty solid, not as solid as Ruach's, but damn near there ($515/mo on a RWD Sport). But when I got there they used this excuse to renege on the deal.

Honestly, I'm going to do it out of spite at this point to prove them wrong. Just need to wait until their finance arm is open on Monday or find someone that can share some official memos on the current numbers.

So then the way to negotiate money factor would be to request numbers from Genesis/Hyundai Finance? I was wondering how to convince salesmen to use the rates on the Edmund's lease rate threads, but numbers straight from Genesis sounds better haha.

Not sure if they will provide them to you or not. Many times the finance arms of manufacturers will consider those discussions to be part of the sales process and not get involved. All dealers know what the base rates are since they receive notification of all rates/amounts/incentives each month. They are just screwing around with @FornicatorSteve .

Yea I agree that they knew but were screwing around with you. That’s why you have to go into it knowing the numbers and be willing to walk. Would be interested if you get a call back in the next day or two.....

I can definitely feel they were jerking me around.

And me driving the way down there and not wanting to go home without a new car (wasn't the case, wouldn't have bought it day of).

I think they felt they could shake some extra out of me. Just salty now I have to cover my bases on things that aren't even questionable.

I think I'll reach out to the Circle help as that dealer said it was the "special lease rate" (they showed it on their internal system) and that terminology lines up with what the non-A plan folks are given for money factor. Usually they'll provide confirmation and offer to contact the dealer and let them know.

I stopped by the Genesis dealer in N. Scottsdale yesterday. I have a Q50 red sport with 4 payments left. I want them to cut me a check for the 4 payments or else I’ll just wait a few months to do the deal.

The lowest they would go was $580 on a 36 / 12 3.3T with the sport package. I think the sticker is $50k.

I’m wondering if they’ll call me today since I see folks are getting deals in the low 500s...

I just turned in my Q50 with 3-months remaining expecting to pay those 3-months of payments along with the $395 disposition fee. Received my final liability statement this week and all that was listed was the equivalent of one payment.

Not sure what happened on their end but was really surprised.

My wife bought an Infiniti recently so I thought maybe that helped us in some way...
