My GENESIS dealer installed the most current software for the navigation system in June 2019.
I constantly found and find the on board navigation system giving me wild out of the way directions to get to specific locations. Or worse.
A case in point is I was driving south from Greenville South Carolina on Interstate 85 and wanted to go to my son's home in Atlanta which is off I75.
The on-board navigation system had me exit Interstate 85 at exit 94 and taking local roads instead of going further South on Interstate 85 and simply connecting with Interstate 75.
Had I ignored the on-board navigation system and gotten off I 85 at Interstate 75 at that intersecting exit I would have simply gone about a mile to get a road that would take me to my son's house about 4 minutes later.
The onboard navigation system took me out of the way by nearly 30 minutes.
I knew the correct way to go but I wanted to see what the on-board navigation system would do, and I followed its directions to the 'T'.
It's simply a bad navigation system compared to Android Auto's Google Maps, based on my experiences.
Another case is I was in Vermont recently going from Manchester to a small town east of Brattleboro.
A scenic way to get there would be via Vermont Route 30.
The on-board navigation system never even showed Route 30 as existing and yet Route 30 is one of the oldest Vermont roads and used to be a main north south road in Vermont.
I would hope the powers-that-be at MSSOFT integrate Google Maps with the on-board navigation system map and allow Android Auto to be shown on the projection screen above the steering wheel instead of the on-board navigation system.
We really should find a way to post these kinds of experiences so both Genesis and the MS Soft map company can take learn from customer experiences and take some action to get us to our destinations directly and correctly; not in a roundabout way.
I've had many little similar experiences with the 2019 GENESIS G80 on-board navigation system giving me cockeyed directions.
I did send a similar message to the MS Soft map company through their website.
