  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Everyone. Pretty much every morning when I first back out of my garage and I turn the steering wheel there is a mild creeking/crackling sound coming from what sounds like the steering wheel rack. 2015 AWD Ultimate. 42k miles. Anyone else experience this?

Is this a new noise? My tires creak on the epoxy coated garage floor.

I bought the car used and it's made three nose since I got it with 42k miles. This happens on all surfaces until car is warm.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Wasn't there discussion on here about the creaking being from the springs within the steering wheel directly underneath the airbag cover?

Same thing here. Only happens when I turn the wheel. And it's summer here, so everything is nice and warm. No winter time creaks.

Seems like it's coming from under the Genesis emblem. I want to pop the horn cover off myself, but since I'm still in warranty, will consult with the dealer first.

If anyone finds a solution, please let me know.

This just started with my recently acquired '16 last week too. Seems when I push up under the horn part it stops, so it's somewhere in there. Will have to mention it on it's first visit to the local dealer in the upcoming weeks. It goes away fairly quickly when driving yet still annoying upon initial start.

This just started on my '15...right after temps went above 90F.

Hi everyone. It's the clock spring. Have your dealer replace it. Most likely under warranty. That fixed mine. Been good for 4 months since I had it fixed.

Made the appointment to get it replaced.
