  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Pics of my G70

The G80 Sport wheels are a very similar design and are 19".
Would the g80 sport wheels fit type g70? I’ve always loved them.

Same bolt pattern and hub size. Offset may be different, but probably not that different. I'm sure the specs are here somewhere and you can use the rimsntires.com comparer tool to see how they fit.

I may do that myself sometime... hmm.

I know that the G80 Sport wheels are definitely wider than the G70s, but as to whether that would impact function or steering or not, I dunno.

According to tiresize.com, the G80 Sport wheels most likely would fit right in on the G70.

G80 Sport front: 8.5x19 40mm offset - 245/40R19
G80 Sport rear: 9x19 49mm offset - 275/35R19

G70 Sport Front: 8x19 34mm offset - 225/40R19
G70 Sport Rear: 8.5x19 46.5mm offset - 255/35R19

Both G70 and G80 use the same bolt pattern (5x114.3), and the same centerbore (67.1).

Greater offset means the tires would poke out a bit, right? And that would compound with the larger tire sizes?

Offset is the distance in millimetres from the centre line of the wheel to the wheel’s mounting face. I don't think it affects how fare the tires stick out but rather how far the rim face sticks out from the centre line of the wheel. Think of the rim face having concave or being flush with the outside edge of the tire. I think the tire width determines how far the tire/rim sticks out. The wider the tire the wider the rim you need which in turn will stick out farther past the wheel well. Spacers could also make the tire stick out farther as well.

Here's a great explanation of offset with a helpful picture for those of us (me) easily confused on wheel jargon.

I do believe offset can actually affect how far the tires 'poke'. If you have two equal size rims and they have 2 different offsets you will easily be able to see the difference in stance

Thank you for the link. Though, looks like I'm still confused. Haha. Oh well.
