If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

I have a 2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD with about 9,000 miles. OK it's my weekend toy. Anyway, over the last 2 days I've been getting a constant PSB (passenger seat belt) warning which is driving me nuts since I am getting the warning (light and chime) with passengers (front and back) as well as when I am the only one in the car. I suspect it's a bad sensor but I wanted to check in to see if anyone else had this issue and if there is a fix so that I don't have to take the car to the dealer for service. Thanks and have a safe weekend.

Eric

Update:

The dealer picked up my car on Wednesday (and returning it home today). The PSB warning is related to a bad Fuel Control Module. According to the service manager, the dealership had never encountered this problem before and had to reach out to Head Office for the fix. I am told that this problem, in general, is not common. Nonetheless, given the inter-relatedness of all of the systems in the car, there is no guaranty that replacing the Fuel Control Module will solve the problem. Otherwise a deeper dive will be required. Let's hope for the best. Please light a candle for my Genny.

Do you actually get a "CHIME" with the PSB warning light. When I picked up my 2016 Ultimate I thought it gave us a warring chime for the passenger but not sure. Later we noted that we had a light but no chime. The dealer informed me that there is no chime connected to the passenger seat, only a warning light.

I just had the same issue on my car. But my biggest problem is that there are maybe about 15-20 dealerships around my area, but none of them want to give me a loaner so I can't get it fixed.

happened to me as well, but VERY intermittent (I'd hear the beep but could barely make out the error on the dash before it disappeared, then it would do it again 15 seconds later, and on, and on...) This coincided with a significant drop in throttle response. Got it to trigger a check-engine light by flooring it for 10 seconds (which got me maybe 10mph increase in speed) until it tripped the CE light. Took it in at 11:30 on a Monday, expecting a 3-4 day delay, only to have the dealer call me back at 4:00 the same day to tell me that they had replaced a module even though they couldn't replicate the problem because they found a few stored error codes. Problem has not reappeared since.

Every car brand is the same and it's generally a dealer perk (marketing ploy) to supply a loaner car. If you are in an area where there is little or no competition for service or the service departments are really busy there is no need for them to offer loaners.

Coming from a BMW this really frustrates me. And the car I got is a lemon, last time for a problem with the radio they had it for over a month and I had to pay for a rental out of pocket. I am now stuck with the car as Hyundai claims it's not a lemon. And another new problem just came up it just makes me miss my BMW more. Probably will never get another hyundai after this car.

Had the same issue and fuel control module replaced on 2016 Genny with 12000 miles.

I just bought a 2015 Genesis and have that exact problem. How long did the fix take and did the error light (PSB means Pre-safe Seat Belt, page 3-85 of owners manuel) ever return?

Did you get yours fixed? Was it the fuel control module? Anyone know how to access it?

My 2015 Genesis (58K) just started having the issue. I'm experiencing the "continuous" chime , Throttle response issues, outside temp sensor acting up, and even transmission shifting issues. I'm currently in Germany - meaning no spare parts and weak support from dealerships. Contacted Hyundai USA, but they say they can't help me while in Europe. (I'm very disappointed) I'm currently working directly with the dealer I purchased the car from. I should be back to the US this October, but I'm not comfortable for long distance driving. on another note, The car is performing very well in the Autobahn along with BMWs and Mercedes. The Germans really love the car! It is hard not to be notice in Bavaria! Based on what I'm reading PSB = to Bad communication issue impacting and performance.

Yup. That was the culprit from my first post last year. I linked a video in my post that showed what I was seeing that ended up being due to a faulty fuel control module. During these fault episodes it made the car almost impossible to drive. No re-occurrence of the problem in the year since it was replaced.

Do we have a part number for the fuel control module for a 2015 genesis - ??

Thank you

Per my warranty invoice on 7/13/2018 the part number was 33041-B1000

Thank you ! called US dealer - purchased vehicle from - no clue . German Hyundai counterparts - parts delivery from several days to weeks! found a website - Hyundai parts deal.com - it looks like they are OEM parts - Currently, working on parts availability and shipment. Again - thank you so much for your help!

Happy 4th!

No Problem. Good luck with the repair. It appears to be mounted inside behind the C-pillar on the drivers side of the car (above the gas fill door location). Keep us updated if that fixes the problem. I suspect it will.

Update as of 2019Aug12

Purchased unit on line. German dealer replaced faulty unit and reseted code. US warranty does not apply here - paid around €350 for labor and $181 por the unit. So far no issues- HD

The part that fixed it was the fuel control module?
