Have to keep in mind that the Stinger, being a fastback, is in a niche market.
The
1,092 isn't that far off 4 Series sales (
1,484) which includes various body-styles, or even a 4-door box sedan like the IS (
1,331).
If it weren't for Korean market sales, the G70 would be in worse shape than the Stinger.
Both could use an increase in base engine sales, but likely won't happen 'til the upgrade to the 2.5T engine.
Going to disagree.
The Stinger actually looks more
upmarket (sans the hood vents) than the typical mainstream luxury model as the inspiration for it was an Italian exotic - the Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo.
The current K900 has a bland exterior, but so do many of the flagship sedans; and the interior is nice (far nicer than the current G80's).
The Cadenza isn't really a luxury model, more like a premium model that slots somewhere btwn something like the Avalon and the ES.
And the exterior looks more upscale than the ES, LaCrosse or TLX.
Actually like the pre-facelift exterior better.
The pre-facelift Cadenza already had leather door inserts, but the refreshed model gets real wood trim.
Agree, however, that the Stinger needs an interior upgrade; no reason why the Cadenza has the nicer interior.
The taillight design of the Stinger is reminiscent of the Maserati GT.
The Charger's rear is more reminiscent of the Azera's.
Latest iteration (Grandeur which isn't sold here).
As for the Kia
tiger-nose grille, it comes in a lot of different shapes and sizes.
From the above Cadenza to something like the Soul and Telluride.
W/ it's
double-tab design, the Kia grille has more in similarity w/ the
single-tab designs for Skoda and Lincoln.
Until now, that is...
And besides, brands like Pontiac had the double-kidney grille design just like BMW's.
