Had 2011 Genesis 4.6 I bought new in May 2011. After 8.5 years of faithful service and over 104,000 trouble-free miles it was time to start looking for something new to drive for another 7-8 years. I was following this thread for years and was planning to get G90 within a year or so. However, new 2020 style while quite impressive looked too much (too futuristic?) for my taste.
About 2 months ago learned about 2nd generation K900 and it stirred my interest. Nearest I could test drive was almost 1 hour away. It hit all the right marks in my books and last week I purchased Lakestone / Beige K900 with VIP package. Traveled over 7.5 hours from Central Florida to Kennesaw north of Atlanta to get exact color combination I wanted. It was the only one Lakestone / Beige within 500 miles radius from my place and the price was right too. Planned buying in cash but had to finance small amount to get an additional $3,500 incentive from KIA. I can pay it off after 3 regular monthly payments. Also got another $250 off what was dealership promotion for that weekend because of some important Falcons game. It brought final price to the very low 50's with OTD (including all taxes, registration, etc.) right around $54,500. Price also included life-time powertrain warranty, 2 years free maintenance, and
ceramic 3M Crystalline tint.
As one reviewer wrote - "You have better chance of seeing McLaren and Buggatti driving side by side on the highway than ever meeting K900 on the road" and I like it. Yes, it does have KIA
badge what does not bother me a bit. Plus K900 KIA
badge is also unique - it has dark red carbon fiber background (not black as any other KIA). I enjoy exclusivity of K900 here in the US. Not sure if true, but another reviewer mentioned that in Korea they sell over 12,000 of them a year outselling Souls and next two countries by K900 sale volumes are China and Russia.
Driving K900 for the second week was absolute pleasure. With 50/50 front/rear weight distribution and AWD it handles extremely well and is noticeably faster than Genesis V8. Level of K900 technology is unbelievable exceeding 2020 G90 features. Specifically 12.3" Full LCD TFT Instrument Cluster with selectable themes.
In conclusion. Do yourself a favor and test drive K900 if you have one available withing reasonable distance. You may end up buying it too
