I drag raced a black jeep cherokee this morning. It was pretty damm quick for a big SUV. I think it had a big ole Hemi or something in it.
But I won.
The Genesis 5.0 is a muscle car. It's awesome.

so according to the specs on a 2019 Mustang 5.0 it should have a 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds, and the 3.3T sport G80 5.2 seconds.

The Mustang is supposed to be a full second faster.

A 2020 SRT is factory quoted (with launch control) at 4.4s to 60. I bet he thought the Genny wouldn't have any balls and just light-footed it at first and then got surprised. Lol!

semantics. Many of the parts on the car are labeled Hyundai, the parent Company is Hyundai, and it was sold by Hyundai dealerships until 2019.

Not gonna lie, I thought my 3.8 G80 loaner was going to suck super hard, but I've been really impressed with it. Tons of useful torque down low, it just runs out of breath at the top end. I am however super disappointed with the gas mileage: with 25% less power I expected at least a moderate bump in economy, but I'm pretty sure (according to the computers) I'm getting exactly the same as my 5.0 does. Both in ECO, driving them both the same way in the same places... Maybe after break-in it'll improve, I just cracked 1000 miles on it this morning.

See I have the 3.8 BH sedan which is considerably lighter than the DH or G80 3.8. Plus I'll be properly tuned for it as well.. I bet if that loaner were t ok catch a tune it would change the whole dynamic of that car. It's an option I toyed with p&p the throttle body and intake manifold then tune. But since I'm going for the turbo I'm just gonna make it the last step since turbo plus tune is better hp/$$..

I have AWD, obviously it's not launch control, but I have had my share of victories with my 3.8. One has to be reasonable with expectations. I would be cockier with a 5.0 or a fully tuned and modded 3.8. My logic tends to function off of 2 age old adages:
1. You don't have to get ready if you stay ready.
2. Everybody has a plan until they get hit.
